3rd 100km in 3 months. 4th to date.CULTRA, we meet again. Same course, same pain, new lessons.Cramps kicked in as awal as KM15. Target time? Out the window. But like every ultra, it became a problem-solving game. Adapt or suffer.Play it smart. Survive the lows. Move when the legs say no.No “racing” feeling, just surviving and occasionally pretending macam it’s a stroll in the park.Finished strong, yes. But satisfied? Not quite. Shaved 34mins off from last year, yet still feel I left more out there.Maybe that’s the beauty of it. Never being truly satisfied. It keeps the fire burning.Juggling life, work, family, and back-to-back 100km races isn’t easy. But somehow, we show up. We finish. We evolve.Big shoutout & terima kasih to @asicsmalaysia trail fam 🙌 Thanks for the endless support & opportunity. So good to see many familiar faces over the weekend. Such a vibe! Till next time @cameronultra !🤘🏼📷 @kongkiat_photo & others#ASICSMY #ASICSTrail#SoundMindSoundBody#CULTRA100 #UltraRunning #ProblemSolvingInMotion #100kmMentalGame #StillLearningStillHungry by @admizakri

“They planned, and Allah planned. And Allah is the best of planners.”CULTRA 100K was supposed to be my A-race this year. Then sometime in April, kita found out my son’s graduation would be on Saturday afternoon. That meant one thing, I couldn’t make the 2am 100K flag off.Family first. So beli another bib instead. The 30K Night Race. Lama dah tak race short, so I thought… why not? The training was done, the body felt fresh, and I was excited to see what I had over a shorter distance.Graduation ended around 5.30pm. Straight from there, drove up to Tanah Rata, collected my bib.…then came the news. 30K rerouted to 14K.Four days of rain had battered the trails, and safety had to come first.Honestly, I was disappointed. I even considered not starting. A 14K trail race means one thing: it’s fast from the gun. On slippery terrain, one mistake is all it takes. Then I bumped into Kak Hana & Chief Faiz.“Layan je.”That was enough. One last decision. Prototype MetaFuji 2… or play safe?Safe is boring.Going into Berembun reminded me why I keep coming back to the trails. I wasn’t racing anyone else, I was racing myself. Run within myself, manage the effort & empty the tank when it mattered.Crossing the finish line, I couldn’t help but think…Sometimes we spend months preparing for one race, only for everything to change at the very last minute. That’s trail running. You plan. The mountain decides.Alhamdulillah, the proto-MetaFuji 2 was outstanding. The grip gave me plenty of confidence despite the mud, & the ride rasa more stable while keeping that quick, responsive feel you want from a race shoe. Not every race goes according to plan. But maybe that’s the point.Sometimes Allah replaces the race you wanted with the race you needed.“They planned, and Allah planned. And Allah is the best of planners.” 🤍@asicsmalaysia #soundmindsoundbody by @admizakri

50KM. 1,600m D+. Sub 8. Top 5. Alhamdulillah 🤲🏼Signed up for Muallim Country Run because I couldn’t make CULTRA 100K. No way I was going to let this whole training block go to waste.First time here. A proper 50/50 mix of road & trail.River crossings. Diamond Creek climb on tarmac & cement. Perangin Waterfall was a different story: technical, slippery rocks beside the waterfall. Usually I’d stop for content or mandi. This time… tak sempat. 😂The only goal before the gun went off?Sub 8 hours.Nothing else.I never race for podiums. I race against the person I was yesterday. That’s it.One thing I always rely on during trail races is ClimbPro. It tells me exactly how much climbing is left, so I can manage effort from the bottom instead of blowing my legs halfway up. Pair that with RPE, and you stop guessing.Race smart.I knew I have another race in two weeks.I knew both my ankles gave me problems last year.I knew I was testing a brand new carbon-plated prototype that I barely had time to break in.So ego stayed at home.Strength work. Rehab. Physio. Months of patience.Alhamdulillah… everything held up.The prototype surprised me.Soft. Responsive. Kinda stable due to wider platform & midsole. Didn’t have that aggressive carbon kick like the MetaFuji, but somehow it just wanted to go fast. Grip was solid on wet rocks, upper drained well after every river crossing, and the sock liner kept the tiny stones out.Only downside? My calves were screaming #lemah😂 Not cramping… but warning me they’re not used to carbon plates yet. So I backed off, managed the effort, then pushed again when it was safe.Sometimes slowing down is actually the fastest decision.Crossing the line in Top 5?That was just a bonus. The best part was chasing strong runners all day. Every time they passed me, I smiled.Because every fast runner around me raises my own standard.Keeping up with them, even for a while, tells me I’m moving in the right direction.Hard work beats talent when talent stops working.Start where you are.Stay consistent.Trust the process. The results will come.Always. 💪🏼 by @admizakri

75 JBU 2026 — 79.71km | 4,438m | 20hrs 18minsSigned up months ago thinking it was 50k. Night before race checked the confirmation email… 75km. Blank for 2 mins. “Wth did I just do?” 🤣Ultra running is basically problem solving in the forest. Cramps, sesat, blisters, muddy descents, pacat party… all part of the game 😆First time masuk route Kemensah from Janda Baik. Mud was insane. In & out back to Janda Baik with 6–7 pacats kenyang makan kaki aku 😭At KM43 CP drop bag, greeted by like-minded friends Iqa & Lela helping me replenish nutrition. This time I kept it simple, no change of clothes, socks or shoes. Just refill flasks, solid food, pain cream, cap & jalan. Then headed towards Nuang basecamp via never-ending gravel & cement rolling hills under the powerlines around Janda Baik. Sun was up & it didn’t disappoint 🥵 Some climbs felt like 30% incline.Once sampai kaki Gunung Nuang, conditions were exactly as expected. Barai nak mampus 😂 Reached the peak ngam-ngam before maghrib.Descending Nuang peak, I sat down to control a slippery section… sekali terus slide masuk bawah dua batang akar 😭 Ngam-ngam kena sepit macam cartoon character. Shin kena hentam & I was stuck there laughing at myself before finally pulling myself out 🤣Then after maghrib, insects started coming out. One fly attacked my headlamp & flew straight into my ear 💀 Panic terus. Ketuk kepala sendiri macam orang gila sampai headlamp tercabut while runners depan tengok pelik 😂Ended up drowning the fly inside Sungai Chemperoh. Bunyi dalam telinga slowly faded macam phone battery nak habis… “bzzzz…zzz…” 😭🤣Thought lepas Nuang dapat road balik finish line. Owh tidak. Another round of rolling hills 😭 But funny thing about ultras, your body can feel completely shutdown, then suddenly reboot itself. Last 10k I somehow found my running legs again & started overtaking people. That’s why experienced ultra runners selalu cakap — don’t give up too early. Rest, hydrate & solve problems one by one. Body kita stronger than we think.Still learning the art of problem solving out there. Also… lepas ni wajib bawak tweezers dalam aid kit by @admizakri

Don’t skip gym if you wanna bomb descents & float up climbs. This is where the real work gets built. 🧱My simple 45-min S&C session:• Split Squat Jump (R/L)• Goblet Squat• Front Lunges (R/L)• Squat Jumps• Step-Up to High Knee• Kettlebell Swing• Med Ball Goblet Squat (extra burn)6 sets × 10 reps each.Short rest. Stay explosive. Stay controlled.Build the engine. Protect the legs. Earn the downhill. 🏔️🔥 #letsgetit by @admizakri
