ΧΟΡΟΣ ΣΤΟ ΜΕΓΑΡΟ “Lunar Seaga” | Αντώνης Βαής 📅 25 Ιουλίου | 19:30 📍 Μέγαρο Χορού Καλαμάτας - Εναλλακτική Σκηνή Το Lunar Seaga αντλεί έμπνευση από δυστοπικά βιομηχανικά τοπία, όπου η ανθρώπινη δραστηριότητα και η εκμετάλλευση των φυσικών πόρων συνθέτουν ένα υβριδικό, απόκοσμο οικοσύστημα. Μέσα από εικόνες μολυσμένων ακτών, βιομηχανικών καταλοίπων και έντονων φυσικών φαινομένων, το έργο δημιουργεί ένα σκηνικό μετάβασης ανάμεσα στην πραγματικότητα και την επιστημονική φαντασία. Η παράσταση είναι μέρος του SYSTEMA - For the Greek Performing Arts, της σύμπραξης τριών πολιτιστικών οργανισμών της χώρας, του Φεστιβάλ Αθηνών Επιδαύρου, του Εθνικού Θεάτρου και του Διεθνούς Φεστιβάλ Χορού Καλαμάτας. Το έργο παρουσιάστηκε για πρώτη φορά το 2025 στην Ελευσίνα, στο πλαίσιο του προγράμματος U(R)TOPIAS Ακαδημία Χορογραφίας, και εξελίχθηκε περαιτέρω μέσα από καλλιτεχνική φιλοξενία στο Dance Days Chania. EN DANCE AT MEGARON “Lunar Seaga” | Andonis Vais 📅 25 July | 19:30 📍 Kalamata Dance Megaron - Alternative Stage Lunar Seaga draws inspiration from dystopian industrial landscapes, where human activity and the exploitation of natural resources create a hybrid, otherworldly ecosystem. Through images of polluted coastlines, industrial remnants, and powerful natural forces, the work unfolds as a transitional journey between reality and science fiction. The performance is part of Systema - For the Greek Performing Arts, a collaboration between three of the country’s leading cultural institutions, the Athens Epidaurus Festival, the National Theatre and the Kalamata International Dance Festival. The work was first presented in 2025 in Elefsina as part of the U(R)TOPIAS Choreography Academy programme and was further developed through an artistic residency at Dance Days Chania. “Lunar Seaga” @dancedayschania_festival ! On Friday 1st of August at 21:00 we are presenting an extended version of an Elefsinian dream at “The French School” after an 8 days residency offered by Sofia Falierou in Chania Crete. I am so grateful for being able to expand my research, further develop and perform together with @haris.savopoulos & @billpapailio . So fortunate and happy for the hospitality and support by Sofia Falierou, @chryssageorgiou , Maria Mpotonaki and all the volunteers! Everything becoming possible through our @urtopias_academy and our mentor @patriciaapergi ! Admission is free and you are all more than welcome. U(R)TOPIAS RESIDENCY DIARIES | ΑDONIS VAIS “Μήκων η υπνοφόρος. Αγαπημένη, Πλησιάζει η νύχτα που θ’ αγκαλιαστούμε. Εγώ ελάχιστος και εσύ πως περισσεύεις και της ζωής το απέραντο πως το υπερνικάς. Τι κι αν σε επισκέπτομαι, τι κι αν σε κατοικώ. Δεν μ’ έχεις συγχωρέσει που ωφελήθηκα απ’ το χαμό σου. Μου είχες ψιθυρίσει ένα ψέμα. Ότι με χρειάζεσαι. Και εγώ σε πίστεψα κι άρχισα να σ’επιθυμώ. Όμως απόψε κιόλας όσα θα τελεστούν, όσα θα ειπωθούν κι όσα φανερωθούν, είναι στο υπόσχομαι για πάντοτε ολότελα δικά μας.” Ζητήσαμε από τους καλλιτέχνες να μοιραστούν την εμπειρία και τις σκέψεις τους κατά τη διάρκεια του Residency και της επεξεργασίας του έργου τους. Ο Αντώνης Βαής μας απάντησε. ____________ “Papaver rhoeas, the bearer of sleep. My loved one, The night of our embrace is near. Me, at my minimum of forms and you, more than life’s endlessness, thriumphing over it. Ι visit, I inhabit you and, yet... You have not forgiven me for gaining from your perish. You’ve whispered to me, a lie, that you are in need of me. Thus, I believed you and began to yearn for you. Yet, tonight’s events, what we’ll shed light on, will forever be completely ours.” We asked of the artists to share their experience and thoughts during their Residency and their work’s developement. U(R)TOPIAS RESIDENCIES | ADONIS VAIS Η παρουσίαση του Αντώνη Βαή μετά από το 10ήμερο residency στη Ελευσίνα. Με τη χρήση video projection, ο Αντώνης Βαής μας φανέρωσε πτυχές της πόλης και του έργου του. Ένα ταξίδι με εργαλέια το φως, την εικόνα και τη χρήση ανακλαστικών υλικών που δίνουν στο κινούμενο σώμα την ικανότητα να αλλάζει μορφές, ενσωματώνοντας το στο βιομηχανικό τοπίο. ________ Αntonis Vais’s presentation, following the artists’s 10-day Residency at Eleusina. With the use of video projection, the artist reavealed to us different perspectives of the city and their work.
