In the midst of a full kitchen renovation and the busiest season of life, this little front door refresh felt surprisingly satisfying. Sometimes you just need one small project you can actually finish in an afternoon.I used @california_paints Endure Exterior in Venetian Glass, a vibrant blue-green that reminds me of the beautiful copper patina of the Statue of Liberty. The adhesion on this paint is incredible, two coats and done, and it’s made for high-touch areas too, which is very important around here.A small change that made the whole house feel more like home again.#Californiapaints #ad by @adoredhouse

When I designed this kitchen, a high quality range hood was a must. Our last kitchen didn’t have proper ventilation, so protecting this space was really important to me. We chose a built-in @hauslaneofficial hood because of the great reviews and homeowner-friendly installation. Bob and I installed it ourselves, and I built the hood cover around it. I love that it blends seamlessly into the kitchen while still being incredibly powerful, quiet, and functional. The warm lighting is an added bonus, and we truly could not be happier with it. I started this garden project a little over a year ago, and I’m so glad I did. This little square of the earth brings me so much peace and joy. This was once where the swing set lived that kept my little girls busy for many years. The swing set that pretty much sold us on this house when we had one 3 year old, and another one on the way. While the set is gone after years and years of play, I’m happy to say that the garden still serves as a place for all of us to spend our time. Cece has taken a liking to homemade unsweetened iced tea with lemon like Bob and I like (which I now make literal gallons of each week), and she likes to hang out in the garden with her tea and a word search (I swear she’s got one spunky old soul living in her). It also serves as an obstacle course when her friends come over, and I’m told it’s a great space for “floor is lava.” Emme, now 13, tends to dance around the space and use the fence as the perfect perch to record TikTok dancing videos that only ever stay in her drafts. While I’m learning to embrace the big kid teen stuff, I still see her imagination running wild while she’s out there. Just as it did when she 3 and told us we had to buy this house because she wanted the swing set. I plan to add a little water feature in there soon, and would like to make it an afternoon spot for Bob and I to hang, but we’ll see. #garden #potager #njhomes #cottagegardenstyle #farmingdalenj by @adoredhouse

$Appliances typically eat up a ton of a kitchen renovation budget, but what if I told you they didn’t have to? I discovered @njsliquidators with locations in Jackson and Oakhurst, NJ, and I was so delighted to find that they had all of the top names in home appliances at a fraction of the retail prices. I found the Bosch panel ready dishwasher of my kitchen dreams at such an incredible price, and was able to put those savings towards the extra little details in the kitchen that I did not think were in the budget. Woo hoo! NJS Liquidators also has a ton of other items besides large appliances… they have small appliances (I’m eyeing up a new air fryer and ice maker!), building materials, power tools, furniture, and more! Happy Thanksgiving! I can’t look at this picture without tearing up!
