During my graduation photo shoot, I took so many photos that I’m struggling to decide which ones to post, hence the back-to-back uploads. If there are more this week, please bear with me. This year, I’ve learned that God will never leave or forsake me. He knows every hair on my head and loves me deeply, protecting and guiding me.

Despite feeling like this was the worst year of my life, God has been piecing me back together. My mother encouraged me to share these beautiful photos, noting my contagious smile. My bachelor’s degree has opened countless opportunities, and I’m on a journey of self-love and growth. Loving yourself is essential; only you and God can truly love you. Going forward, I’m focusing on myself, my time, and my energy, disconnecting from anything that doesn’t support my growth.

God has already removed those who don’t belong in my life and has protected my worth from those who can’t see it. Sometimes I wonder why God chose me, but I’ve learned He uses imperfect people for His purpose, as He did with the 12 disciples. God has been telling me to share my story to inspire and uplift others, and now I believe it’s time. I want to thank God for bringing me this far. Without Him, I am nothing. Despite facing trials, tribulations, and obstacles, I never let them break me. I was called to stand out and shine brightly.

Throughout my college journey, I learned that not everyone can accompany me where I’m going. Different seasons bring different people, and I’ve faced jealousy and hatred from those who don’t know my story.

My story begins as the child of two immigrants from South Sudan. One night, my mother heard bombs and we fled, walking from Nairobi, Kenya, for three days and nights without food or water. We knew God was guiding us. Later, a church sponsored our move to the United States.

In the U.S., I experienced colorism, texturism, and racism. I was bullied for my appearance, but I grew to love myself and embrace my identity. Houston Christian University became part of my story, providing me with genuine friends and supportive professors.

Despite doubts about affording school, God always provided. Spiritual warfare challenged me, but by God’s grace, I overcame. This year, God spared my life, giving me a powerful testimony. Life is what you make of it, and praising God even in storms confuses the enemy. Despite being wronged, I stayed true to myself and always found victory.

Scripture says if Jesus was hated, so will we be (James 4:4). We must fully surrender to God. My strength comes from above, helping me overcome challenges like learning English. Despite discouragement, I achieved my educational goals by choice and God’s grace (Romans 8:37, Philippians 2:13).

When my father died, I promised to create a legacy and finish school for him. I am proud of my South Sudanese and African heritage, despite attempts to shame me. “Before I formed thee... I ordained thee” (Jeremiah 1:5).

Houston Christian University taught me how to be a healthcare provider with Christian principles. I plan to change healthcare and return home to help my country. I will be a solution to many problems, leading with God’s love. This isn’t the end of my story. @hcuofficial by @adoreeemeeee
