With sisterhood starting tomorrow we wanted to share a piece of advice from our amazing president @josie.bochicchio 💐🤍🌟

“To the PNMs, Take a deep breath. I am so excited for you all to experience recruitment and, hopefully, find a place that feels like home.

I signed up for recruitment days before the deadline, and I walked into it with a very closed mind. I grew up with three older brothers and surrounded by the kind of “mean girl” culture that made the idea of finding genuine support in a room full of women feel almost impossible. I remember walking into recruitment with shaking hands, wondering if I would actually find people I could be myself around.
And then I found ADPI.

Looking back, I think one of the best things I ever did was give myself the chance to be wrong about what I thought sisterhood would look like. I was scared to put myself out there, but doing it brought me the women who have become such a huge part of my life. No matter which chapter becomes your home, I hope you give yourself that same chance.

So trust yourself, be patient with the process, and don’t be afraid to walk into something that scares you, You don’t have to know exactly what your forever home is supposed to look like. I certainly didn’t.

Senior Spotlight with @luciejcahill as she looks back on her decision to join ADPi and reflects on her recruitment experience 🤍✨

“Hi!! I’m Lucie and I’m a rising senior in ADPi. As I look back and reflect on my time at Bucknell, I can confidently say that going through recruitment and joining ADPi was the best decision I’ve ever made. Before recruitment, I felt I was missing a sense of belonging within my college experience. ADPi brought me a community, a family, and an unwavering sense of love and support that completely changed my life. I met my best friends after joining, and together we shared so many special experiences that I will treasure forever. My favorite memories include being a new member fall semester of sophomore year, living on the suite as a junior, and spending my last semester abroad in Sorrento, Italy traveling the world with all my friends! I can truly say that the women of ADPi are the most incredible, inspiring, ambitious, and genuine people I’ve ever met. I feel so lucky to be apart of such a special sisterhood that has transformed my Bucknell experience. “I truly can’t imagine what my Bucknell experience would look like without Anna. We met during recruitment and I immediately knew I wanted her as my little. She has such a bubbly energy that makes you want to be around her and we always have the best time together. Although Anna is my little, I truly look up to her in all aspects of life. She is the sweetest, most supportive, driven, and thoughtful friend who has been there for me through it all. Anna is everything I ever wanted in a little and I wouldn’t change our friendship for anything. I am forever grateful to ADPI for giving me one of my best friends. “By going through recruitment & joining ADPi not only allowed me to meet so many more people in the Bucknell community but it also introduced to my big Sophie. I have never had an older sister but since the moment we met, Sophie feels like she’s always been that for me. Sophie is one of the most thoughtful & kind people & now I can’t imagine my life or college experience without her in it. With just three days left until recruitment we wanted to share a message from our incredible bid day chair @gcandrews_ 🤎💫

“Hi everyone! My name is Giuliana, and I am a junior in ADPi and this year’s Bid Day Chair! Going through recruitment and finding my place in ADPi has been one of my favorite experiences at Bucknell. It introduced me to so many incredible people who I now get to call my best friends.
Sisterhood has always been really important to me. I have a younger sister, and I also attended an all-girls school, so I have always loved being surrounded by confident, supportive girls. ADPi gave me that same sense of sisterhood because of how much everyone supports one another. I know recruitment can be such an exciting yet nerve-wracking time, but my biggest piece of advice is to be yourself! You will find the people and the place that feels like your home away from home.
