What a gift it is to be surrounded by such incredibly talented folks…

My dear friend @budforce never fails to amaze and inspire me. He consistently tells a story like no one else, and his love and appreciation for the cowboy world is clear in every shot.

Thank-you for including my music as a small part of such a beautiful commercial and the soundtrack to these incredible cowgirls on screen.

It’s pretty dang special when you wear an @americanhatco lid anyway to be the soundtrack for their commercial….thanks so much y’all! 🩷

Last night, I received an email from Billboard Magazine saying the new album Desert Dwelling Mama is now charting on two Billboard music charts and #5 alongside many of my musical heroes.

I just a small, independent artist with no backing and no label singing songs about bucking horses & cowboys...& yet the past 24 hours have become a beautiful blur of unrealized dreams that are now reality.

And you, all of you folks are the reason!

Cowboy music is charting on @billboardcharts right now because of you.

I have no words except thank-you.

I don’t know what’s coming next, but I promise you I’m ready. I promise I’ll make you proud. I promise to just keep singing.

Thank-you friends, you have given me so much joy! 💖

NFR….Round 4!

My lanta, what a night.

It’s was such an honor to sing “Poor Wayfaring Stranger” in memory of those who are are no longer with us.

Paying tribute to these amazing men and women was so special for many reasons, one of them being that I had the opportunity to climb aboard quite a few of Mr. Rosser’s broncs in the past…and now had a chance to say goodbye properly.

Thank you so much for having me back @lasvegasnfr! I am truly blessed! 💕

Dear Cowgirl,

I used to love wearing flowers on my hat when I rode broncs.

I always figured it reminded the guys I was a girl, plus it was something to identify me by so when I got lost after the rodeo, my travel buddies could find me again (oops).

My folks giggled at it but never said anything.

You see, my parents always taught my sister and me that we could do anything a man did, as long as we looked and acted like ladies while we did it. Now, a little farther along in life I can honestly say we took that a little too far. I have some different opinions regarding femininity these days, but one thing hasn’t changed—the goal was never to be “one of the guys.”

I’ll never forget watching my sister shoe her horses, fix fence, or doctor a yearling with her nails painted red and our grandmother’s pearls dating from the 1920s around her tanned throat.

The goal was never to be one of the guys or to do everything they could, because the reality is, we can’t do everything they are capable of.

I cannot do all the things that men can, but I can do all the things they can’t.

Some of the toughest women and handiest cowboy-girls I’ve known have at the same time been the most feminine, the softest, the most gentle of spirit and the most capable.

Now, I’m not saying to wear flowers in your hair, to go buy a new lipstick color or wear pink if you hate it. That isn’t what makes a woman feminine!

Personal style differs from individual to individual.

What I am asking, is that in the midst of a world with so much anger about the need to prove women are equals, you remember you’re not just an equal.

As a woman, you were created to be something more.

I am not saying not to be tough. I am not saying to not push boundaries, chase goals, or prove what you are capable of to yourself.

I am saying to remember what being a woman means, because it is a beautiful thing.

You weren’t made to be just like a man, you were made to be what he was missing.

Dear Cowgirl,

Get excited about the small things.

The hot coffee made for you by strong, work weathered hands.

The wildflowers picked horseback and brought back to the pick-up like a trophy.

The handmade boots that fit just right, and a body that is able to function to the best of its ability. Move. Bend. Lift.

The homemade meals and laughter with loved ones over stories and scribbled notes on what made you laugh that one time on that one road trip.

The times you pull over to finally read the historical marker by the side of the road on an “ordinary” drive home.

The cold ice tea shared on the porch with a grandparent who hasn’t been listened to for a while.

The girls-nights, giggles and talks with neighbors you don’t rush through.

The sticky hand-holding of little ones and joy of finding vintage books and boots that fit tiny feet just right.

The kitchen dances, stolen moment hugs and Sunday Hillsong meditations.

The ability to read, the joy of creating and the gift of LIFE.

Dear Cowgirl, let yourself get excited about the little things.

One day, you’ll realize they weren’t so little after all. 💕

Okay, friends.

We’re changing things up!

I used to run a pretty tight ship around @makeamericacowboyagainofficial (cue eye rolling)….ok, well at least as it related to the schedule with MACA.

Because of touring and being on the road performing for so many years, I found the best way to handle things, was to open the store for drops a couple times a month, have a limited run of whatever we were excited about available…let y’all fight tooth and nail over the sizes, and then close it back up again when I’d head back out on the road.

Somewhere between graduate school and moving, we got away from that.

A rigorous Masters program, internships, touring AND the shop frankly required a lot more time than I was able to handle to the degree I used to, and so grades and shows took precedence for a few years.

BUT…I’m tickled to say I’m finally all set up in my own perfect spot just for the store again! —>

Starting this fall, we’re going back to the “old ways” because they truly always are the best way.

That means, smaller drops and twice-a-month store updates again. Because frankly, I love being able to pray over each order that goes out and not having warehouse and tons of folks being involved.

That was one of the things that was so precious to me before, the simplicity and ability for MACA to be a one, to two-woman show. —>

I’m planning on bringing back a few of the older styles (REMEMBER the BRONCS, BABES BURRITOS trucker caps?!) while some of them are old history, and we’re moving on.

But first, I need some ROOM.

I have some of the last of our red + grey MACA tees, long sleeves and hoodies, COWBOY GIRL tees and a handful of other pieces taking up space that we’re going to need ASAP for all the new goodies coming.

So, before the new stuff starts rolling in, we’re doing one BIG GIANT warehouse clean-out —>

SATURDAY @ 7PM ET through TUESDAY @ 10PM ET.

Everything in the clean out will be marked down while it lasts, and orders over $100 ship free because I know gas and grocery prices are weighing on everyone right now.

There are some sizes we have plenty of, and a few we have literally only one or two left in…
