Since the seemingly inevitable arrival of Ai imagery assaulting my senses, I have been find myself wanting to produce something tactile again. I’ve been spending a lot of time in the darkroom and I’m kind of in awe of the chemical “technology” humans created over decades to produce color RA-4 prints. Emulsion, light and chemistry. Thanks to @colorandblackandwhite for keeping it alive

Some darkroom prints of @nolanbartol & @carleyraytuck at Surfrider.

This shoot was so much fun for me, simple… Beach, talent, a great team, magic hour and film. I committed to an all analog process for this one. Kodak film, proof sheets and finals handprinted in the darkroom.

I met Thomas @tab_mullins a few years back shooting for @cavenders in East Texas. He doesn’t just play dress up as a cowboy, he’s living the life. He told me on the first shoot we did together that he prefers to sleep on his porch even though he has a functioning indoor bed. It makes me happy to know there are still people like him in the world, living close to nature, unconsumed by modern life. He’s one of the good ones on this rock. Thanks friend, looking forward to making out to your ranch someday soon.
