Meet Adrian Flores @adrianjflores_ ! Member of the 2026 National cohort of our LatinXtensions program.

Born and Raised in El Paso, Texas, Adrian José Flores is a movement directing extraordinaire based in Austin, Texas. With a Bachelors Degree in Radio/Television/Film from the University of Texas at Austin, he marriages his passion for music and dance by creating films that reflect the culture and climate of today’s world.

Being raised and surrounded by a family full of Educators, AJ holds deep reverence when it comes to facilitating his classroom environment. Teaching someone "how to dance" and/or to learn choreography hold different but coinciding techniques. AJ teaches students how to identify the rhythm or the "heartbeat" within afro-diasporic styles of dance while providing movement tools and vocabulary that assist in helping one create pathways for improvisation.

Last Monday’s class was pure joy. Thank you to everyone who showed up and shared their energy with us. ✨

The goal of ‘Within The Beat’ is to create a space where dancers can deepen their connection to rhythm, movement quality, and performance.

Rather than focusing solely on choreography retention, the series emphasizes musical interpretation, groove mechanics, texture, confidence, and storytelling through movement.

This series is intended for intermediate and advanced dancers, movers, creatives, and performers looking for intentional training in both foundations and choreography.

The environment is designed to feel challenging, collaborative, and artistically inspiring.
