Grateful to be a part of this! To celebrate the release of @everydayracism_ new book, they worked with @w1curates to hold space for black creatives to showcase some of their work. You can see my piece alongside so many other amazing creators on the @flannels building on Oxford Street!

Spaces in between - on show until Thursday!

I chose my remake of the Pepper Ann cartoon character for this feature 🥳 We were overrun by a European lens growing up, so I thought it’d be fun to reimagine some of those characters. by @adryan__studio

Congratulations to @dezeen on 250,000 YouTube subscribers 🤸🏿‍♂️

To celebrate this achievement, Dezeen commissioned me to design a piece that resonated with something this major.

When I was younger, I wanted to become an architect… I decided to lean into that and designed some of my favourite structures alongside my classically long-necked figures.

It’s time for another In Good Hands interview, where I sit down with makers, artists and creators who approach their craft with the same love and intention I bring to Dibia.

I launched the new Sweet Smoke incense last week, so this felt like the perfect moment to introduce you to the artist behind the Sweet Smoke packaging, @adryan__studio .

Adryan is a New York/London-based multidisciplinary creative and, most importantly, one of my closest friends. One of my greatest joys is creating beautiful things with the people I care about most, so when I needed help bringing the Sweet Smoke packaging to life, there was no one else I wanted to call.

I love the way he sees the world, and the way he depicts the Black body. His illustrations carry a regal sensibility I find endlessly inspiring.

I hope you enjoy learning more about Adryan and his craft.

The Register • Release V2

The Register is a living archive documenting sites of cultural, historical, and civic significance! I started this project because I believe these places deserve to be documented, remembered, and discussed, especially as narratives and spaces continue to evolve ☺️

This second release introduces a refreshed UI, improved navigation, status indicators, a growing catalogue of sites, and a new submission flow so anyone can suggest places that should be added! (You can even buy me a coffee, if you’re feeling generous)

The workflow has been just as interesting as the product itself 💻 I continue to design master screens in @figma first, then direct Figma Make to build them, creating a fast, iterative workflow that still keeps design at the centre of the process. I’m intentionally treating The Register like a product, organising releases, documenting decisions, and continuously improving the experience :)

I got to speak with some amazing fellow panellists at UAL for Black Creatives Hub’s annual gathering. Thank you Sammy!

I got to intro my personal project, @theregister__ , and talk through some challenges and wins I’ve recently experienced as a designer and artist.

We spoke about the implications and opportunities of AI, how each of us became established designers in our own right and how to manoeuvre an ever changing, unpredictable landscape for black creatives.

I had the great pleasure of sharing the stage with Ronke and Venessa to talk about the intricacies of our individual Product Design journeys!

Also… By way of a Pecha Kucha presentation, I was also given the opportunity to speak about my creative design and illustrative journey - it made for a crammed 7 minutes 🥲

Thank you so much to @wherearetheblackdesigners , @ustwo and @foundbyfew for granting us the space to share our stories with those passionate about design! I was originally meant to attend this talk as a guest, but I was asked to speak… full circle moment 🌟
