Sometimes, minority business owners need a break.

July is #BIPOCMentalHealthAwarenessMonth, and this week we’re revisiting our Season 10 episode with Jayla Head, psychotherapist and founder of the @advaco.collective. Jayla shared how she sets boundaries as a business owner to support her mental and emotional well-being.

To couple or not to couple.. that is the question!

Let’s kick off our discussion by exploring the idea that “we are meant to be coupled”Thoughts??? by @advaco.collective

Let’s chat about love…

Your midweek reminder to live a little ✨
•
I spent the past few weeks enjoying friends, pho, and an Odeal concert with my bestie — because this season is about balance. Joy. Connection. Letting life feel full in the small ways.
•
And yes… your therapist absolutely has a life off the couch and outside of session. 🫶🏽
•
Here’s to choosing community and pleasure right alongside purpose.

Let’s Chat...
I’ve heard hard things from my therapist that I’m still sitting with — and held space for difficult things from my clients, while also making room for my own real and raw reactions. Because yes… that was wild of that person to do/say that to you. 😅
But between the deep breaths and the “whew, let’s unpack that,” I also left my clients with some tea — or maybe a takeaway — that invited introspection and transformation.
•
Sitting on the therapy couch while also being a therapist is humbling, funny, and a gentle reminder that none of us are above the work. We’re all just doing our best to show up, learn, and heal — sometimes with a meme in hand. 🧡 by @advaco.collective

Let people love you through the in-between ✨
The messy, awkward, growing, “not quite here yet” moments? That’s where real connection happens. You don’t have to have it all together to be lovable — you just have to show up, stay soft, and let others in. 🧡

“Cool people love rest”... and honestly, same.
Here in Georgia the weather is giving a little fall… spring… spring–summer? Very “who gon’ check me, boo?” vibes — unpredictable but somehow still iconic.

But here’s your reminder: even when life (or the weather) is doing the most, you don’t have to. Rest is still productive. Slowing down is still forward movement. And honoring your energy is always in season.

Wishing you a soft, steady, rested Friday 🤎

What kind of rest do you need this weekend? by @advaco.collective

Progress doesn’t always look like movement—it can look like stillness, recalibration, or choosing rest before the next step. Sometimes slowing down is exactly what keeps you steady.

Grateful for the people, places, and pauses that remind me I’m more than the work I do.
•
From slow mornings in Porto to golden hours in Lisbon and adventures in Morocco—traveling around the world with my best girls was a reset I didn’t know I needed.
•
Here’s to laughter, love, and living the lessons I talk about so often: rest is necessary, joy is healing, and connection keeps us grounded. 🌍🧡
