fourth of july weekend 2026 was full of boat days, cabin time, & exploring chetek, wisconsin (which reminded me so much of ely) 🤍

it was the most restful weekend full of family time & exactly what I needed.

What I want to remember & most notable things from our annual BWCA camping trip (but this time 13 weeks pregnant):

• I caught the biggest fish but josh caught the most :)
• sunsets in the bwca are just unmatched
• we loved having the lake completely to ourselves. didn’t see any other people for 2 days
• I couldn’t drink enough water, I need to buy a new filter
• I relied on mountain house rather than fish like usual
• portaging was way harder & the boys did most of the paddling.
• connor was a badass & a trooper & I love that he did this with us
• the bugs weren’t even bad, I only got 1 bug bite & it was on the way out (shoutout to @murphysnaturals)
• getting out into the woods is always worth it even it is hard

I really cherish this yearly trip with my dad & brother & I’m so thankful they’re willing to put in the effort & planning to make it happen.

AZ, I underestimated you.

UTV riding through the mountains was unrealllll. The views literally got better on every turn & I could not stop taking photos and videos.
