🌴 Coachella was absolutely insane! 🤩 The energy, the music, the art, everything was just so electrifying! 💥 My friends and I had the time of our lives, dancing our hearts out to our favorite artists under the desert sun ☀️. And let's not forget about our camp, it was awesome! 🕺🏻🪩

But you know what's funny? As soon as we took that iconic photo in front of the Ferris wheel 🎡, everything just became a blur! 😂 I swear it felt like we blinked and the entire weekend was over! But hey, that just goes to show how much fun we had! Can't wait for our next festival, who's with me? 🙌

☀️🧘🏻‍♂️ Happy Sunday! One of my favorite places to practice yoga is on this balcony. I get lost in a combination of pushing my body into positions of discomfort and the calming sound of the waves crashing against the shore. Many say yoga is painful, but I have found that diving into those painful places is where I am able to spiritually connect my mind and body. There are so many benefits to incorporating this discipline into our lives. I also lift weights and have experienced improved mobility, posture, and sleep when I practice the ancient union of mind and body consistently. I always feel incredible after each session. 🙏🏼🌴

Hanging out with my brothers from another mother in Los Angeles. We decided to grab dinner at Javier’s, which is becoming a ritual when I drop into LA. This place has a festive ambiance, decent Mexican food & the drinks have a habit of arriving strong and fast. Let me know if you’ve been to Javier’s or if you have any restaurant recommendations with a good bar scene for my next visit to LA.

😎 I dropped into Los Angeles to grab have a meal with 2 of my favorite people. My mother and brother have always been strong supportive figures in my life. The wisdom that these two have shared with me has been invaluable. On this day, we had brunch on a beach in Marina Del Rey to celebrate mom’s birthday. It’s always rewarding to take a break from travels to return home and replenish my soul with family love. ❤️

🇨🇴☀️😎 Earlier this year, I had a couple friends from California reach out to me to ask if I had ever been to Colombia. I replied no, but told them it was at the top of my list once I felt I wanted a break from vanlife. Ruben, who was one of those friends, was already in Medellin. He had become such a fan of Colombia that his short visit turned into him living and working remote from Medellin for more than 6 months.

He invited me to stay at his place in Medellín and said he’d show me around. He told me that the weather was always nice and that Medellín is known as “La Ciudad de la Eterna Primavera”, the city of eternal spring, so the weather was the same yearround.

As you can imagine, I was eager to see why he enjoy being in Medellin so much. I ended up storing my van, booked my flight, filled my backpacking pack and was on my way to Colombia for the month of August. When I arrived, he quickly introduced me to several circles of friends. To my surprise, many of those friends were Americans. I quickly found out that there are so many expats living in Medellín. Many of them own homes and businesses here. Since arriving I have been to too many places and events to list, but here are a some of my favorites: Atletico Nacional, Féria de las Flores, Guatape, & Comuna 13 Graffiti Tour.

I’ve been having such a great time in Colombia that I’ve forgotten to post photos. I forgot to mention that Rubén broke his foot just before I arrived, but didn’t let it stop him from going anywhere. He left Medellín a few weeks ago and I’m still here. This place feels like home and who knows when I’ll leave. Super big thanks to my brother @rubensaenz_ for being an awesome host. 🙏

Any suggestions on places I should go or things to try in Colombia?

☀️😎 San Juan Island was everything that my friends (Ben and Zoe) told me it would be when I was invited to visit. The small island is absolutely beautiful during summer. They showed me where to watch beautiful sunsets, hike some nice trails, walk the docks, & watch a Shakespeare play.

As you can see in the first photo, the sun was shining bright making Egg Lake the perfect place for some kayaking. Can you tell that I’m very happy to be on the water❓😁🌊🛶

I was also able to visit the Lime Kiln Lighthouse where a group of Orca researchers sit inside happy to answer questions. I learned so much about the local Orcas. There are 3 resident pods and some transient pods in the area. Unfortunately, it was too foggy to see beyond the shore. 🐳

One of my favorite parts of San Juan Island was playing fetch with Zoe’s dog Kiki. I always have a bag of dog treats in my van, because I usually get to make so many beautiful furry friends. My visit to the island wasn’t long enough, but I’m sure I’ll be back again.🐶

I love that you can drive your vehicle onto a ferry to visit islands in Washington. Do you have any island favorites that I should visit?

😎 I’ve always been up for a good waterfall hike and finding Mossbrae Falls was quite an experience. The route I took had me thigh deep in water crossing a very chilly Sacramento River. There were a couple missteps where I almost fell into the cold water. Once across the river, there is a small opening in the bush that places you on a trail next to some train tracks. Those tracks lead the way to a bridge. If you’ve reached the bridge, you’ve gone too far. Turn right into the trees just before the bridge. It’s a short downhill walk before seeing the lush hillside covered in moss. Instead of water thundering down, it runs down the moss, falling into the Sacramento River. Whenever I visit, I love to take some time to meditate and lose myself in the sound of running water.🧘🏻‍♂️
