Grays Point, Sydney
“Same Pain. Different Current.”

The start line was small — but it marked the beginning of something epic.

This weekend, we launched the world’s first Backyard Ultra–style event on water — the Backyard River Ultra, right here on the Port Hacking River at Grays Point.

A 6.701 km loop.
Start on the hour every hour.
Flow, grit, and sportsmanship.
5 laps is the 2025 title.
We didn’t chase a podium.
We shared the effort, the laughs, and finally — the win.
A huge shoutout to Bret Flower, who joined the assist and made this debut event unforgettable.

This was the first — but not the last.
We’ll be back in early 2026, aiming bigger, longer, see the night sky under headlamps. I hope the CSKC and others join in on this epic concept of endurance brought from the running world
