In Guna Yala, an autonomous indigenous territory, apparently women make the rules. Women are the main food distributors, property owners and decision makers, at least of the home. Women design the traditional embroidered clothing "molas"and things like childcare are seen as equal work to fishing and hunting, male roles. And, remarkably, Guna Yala have complete tolerance of gender fluidity. The belief is that "self" comes from the heart. I didn't know all of that when I visited, it just seemed like a peaceful, beautiful place. In Oaxaca there is no bad photo. Only varying degrees of interesting. Gong Xi Fa Caí! I went to China 6 years ago and I am still posting these photos! What can I say, it was a very memorable trip 😹. As a Fire Tiger myself I was excited for the year of the 🐯 but then I learned that same animal year is actually not a good sign.
