I can’t believe that the season (at least the part of it where you can ride roller coasters) is almost over at @canadaswonderland 😭 I haven’t been able to get to the park since summer ended, but I haven’t had my fill of rides yet… especially on this legend. Which coaster will you miss most once Haunt is done and Winterfest takes over?

After going over a year without any new coaster credits, I finally broke my dry spell with Disneyland Paris’ version of Big Thunder Mountain! This is by far the best version of Big Thunder, and is unique for the fact that it sits on an island in the middle of what would normally be Rivers of America, with underground tunnels connecting it to the mainland. And yes, you pick up quick a bit of speed (and airtime) in that final tunnel.

Big Thunder also ties in with the story of Phantom Manor (DLP’s version of Haunted Mansion). In fact, all of Frontierland is connected by a narrative that tells the story of “Thunder Mesa.” It’s just one example of how Disneyland Paris tends to take classics and adds their own unique spin to them.

Is Invertigo a yay or nay for you? I know it has a bit of a bad reputation, but I really don’t mind it! It’s not the smoothest coaster out there, but it isn’t that rough either. I always end up having a good time when I ride it. That said, that corner of @kingsislandpr is a prime spot for redevelopment, so I’m not too attached to it if something replaces it in the near future.

We made an impromptu trip to the @paris.fair yesterday! Although we didn’t stay long or do a lot of rides, it was nice to enjoy the atmosphere and hang out for a few hours. I’m definitely thinking of going back next year and doing a full day there, but for now, this little taste was lovely.

petal by @arianagrande is an intriguing album that explores the darker sides of fame and romance, and offers a darker sound than many of her previous albums. If the rumours are true and X2 really is closed for good, I’m gonna cry. This ride is/was pure insanity in the best way possible. Although Dinoconda and Eejanaika will continue to persist, it will suck big time to lose this one of a kind experience in North America.

I’m so sad to hear about the passing of @dollyparton 😞 Her artistry and philanthropy were so inspiring, and she truly seemed like a genuine soul.

One of my favourite memories of Dolly was when Mike and I went on our first trip to Dollywood. We had been joking about how cool it would be to see her that day – knowing that it wasn’t actually going to happen. But as it turns out, she was at the park filming a Christmas special! Towards the end of the day, we heard rumblings that she was filming a scene in the chapel. We had already done everything we wanted to do at the park, so we decided to stick around and waited patiently for a chance to catch a glimpse of her. Well, our patience paid off, because after a while, she passed by on a golf cart as she was returning to the backstage area. We didn’t have time to chat, but she did wave and say hi. The sweetest part of it, however, was when a young girl beside us asked Dolly to wish her friend a happy birthday for a video. Of course, Dolly obliged with a huge smile on her face, absolutely making that girl and her friend’s day.

Dolly, you will be dearly missed. Thanks for everything you’ve given to this world 💛🦋
