😴 **ZERO TO TRIATHLON… OR ZERO TO SLEEP?** 😂

Well, this wasn’t quite the training session I had planned! 🤣

Apparently, running, cycling and swimming aren’t enough for my body… it’s decided to start doing interval training while I’m asleep too! 🏊‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♂️💤

For a while now, I’ve been struggling with **sleep jerks** — those sudden involuntary movements that make you feel like you’re falling off a cliff just as you’re drifting off.

Except my body seems to think it’s competing in the Olympic Games every night! 🥇😂

So, for the next **TWO NIGHTS**, I’m hooked up to a home polysomnography kit to try and work out what’s going on.

And judging by the photo, I’ve gone from aspiring triathlete to a budget science experiment! 🧪⚡

I’m currently sporting more wires than my Zwift setup, and I’m fairly sure NASA could pick up a signal from my forehead. 📡🤣

On a more serious note, sleep and recovery are massive parts of endurance training. There’s not much point putting in the hard work if your body isn’t getting the rest it needs.

Hopefully, these two nights will help provide some answers.

**The goal for tonight?**

🏅 Don’t rip the wires off.

🏅 Don’t launch myself out of bed.

🏅 Actually get some sleep.

🏅 Wake up looking slightly less like I’ve been plugged into the National Grid. ⚡😂

💬 **Anyone else suffer from sleep jerks or had a sleep study?** Please tell me I’m not the only one turning bedtime into a full-contact sport! 🤣👇

Follow my **Zero to Triathlon** journey — apparently, even sleeping is an endurance event! 💪

**I LOST A WEEK OF TRAINING… DOES THAT MEAN I’VE FAILED?** 🏊‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♂️

Some days, the hardest part of training isn’t the swim, bike or run.

It’s finding the motivation to even start.

Anxiety, self-doubt and the pressure to keep improving can make missing a few sessions feel like you’ve lost all your progress.

I’ve been there. And I’m learning that getting back on track doesn’t mean punishing yourself for the time you’ve missed.

💪 No catching up on missed workouts.
⏱️ No chasing personal bests.
🏃‍♂️ No pressure to hit a certain pace.

**Just 10 minutes. One small step. One fresh start.**

My journey from ZERO to my first Olympic-distance triathlon in 2027 isn’t going to be perfect.

There will be setbacks, missed sessions and difficult days. But I’m determined to keep showing up.

Because progress isn’t about never falling off track.

**It’s about finding the courage to start again.** 💙

👇 **LET’S TALK!**

Have you ever struggled to restart training after time away?

💬 Comment **RESET** if you’re ready to get moving again.

🔁 Share this with someone who needs a reminder that it’s OK to start over.

I used to hit snooze 4 times then feel guilty all day 👍🏼

👉 Anxiety didn't care about my training schedule. Some mornings I couldn't get out of bed at all
👉 So I stopped trying to become a "morning person" and started training when my body actually showed up
👉 Swim at lunch. Bike after work. Run when it's already dark. The plan doesn't care what time it is
👉 The only bad session is the one you skip because you couldn't face 6am
👉 Power Fitness gear sorted with code ADAMDONE10 for 10% off 🚲
👉 If you're starting from zero too, follow the journey 👊🏼

Why even attempt a triathlon from scratch?

👉 I've got zero swimming background and I'm starting from less than zero fitness
👉 I'm rebuilding after anxiety knocked me out for months
👉 I'm doing it anyway- Spring 2027 is the target
👉 Power Fitness gear has me sorted with the code ADAMDONE10 for 10% off
👉 A free training plan off Google doesn't know what it's like starting this far back
👉 But that's exactly why I'm documenting all of it - the ugly baseline, the setbacks, the slow progress
👉 If you're starting from zero too, follow the journey 👊🏼
