ever wondered what i think calcium carbonate fizzes like when it forms an eggshell?

did you know there are 15+ types of birds that lay blue eggs?

were you aware that oviparity occurs among cnidarians, ctenophores, echinoderms, molluscs and several other aquatic animal phyla as well?

these, and many other facts are NOT resolved in the latest VA by @elicit_recs , but you can hear my latest track “eggshell eternal”, which meanders endlessly from vitelline membrane, chorion, and yolk in the form of abrasive additive textures.

i’ve just (kinda) landed back from this place, and i say kind of because proper afterglow carries an enveloping mist thick enough to fog your sense of bearing.

friday morning to sunday night i got to experience one of those “this job is for moments like these” odisseys. i’ll get the simple bit out of the way in saying that i enjoyed trawling through my record bag and picking up as many “let’s see where this one takes us” tracks as i could, to much mutual enjoyment on both sides of the booth, and i’ll use these clips to try and highlight the immense joy i felt (please beware, experienced psychonauts filmed these and thus, stendhal took over the much grander beauty of the view than that of my mug)

seeing a creature like this festival born is nothing short of mind boggling, i got in the night before and looked at months, days, hours of graft, sweat, tears and the ocassional blood. sound to shade to light to food, every particular detail was done with utmost care, FAR outshining the shortcomings that come with first editions, with using budgets to things that really matter, and to keeping painfully independent.

Fanny, Joel, Iago, and everyone else involved with @dialforest and @dial.electronico and all the offshoots of soundsystems, catering, lodging, and general human care, please, book a spa on me, pat yourselves on the back and love yourselves immensely for the GIGANTIC thing you’ve created, and that i’m looking forward to see grow for years and years. something massive is in front of us. I’ll also take this moment to say this part of our planet is full of crazy geniuses when it comes to putting tunes together, and we have no reason at all to envy international superstars

for the unaware, don’t miss it next time.

PSA. it’s ironic i have to gloss over my people’s hard work not in our common language, but i have an audience i want to get to to see how we do it over here, and the fucking robot that shows this to people is much less kinder when i do it in spanish. taken in Playa Fluvial O Corgo (Muiños-Ourense) by @ae.pepe_

El dj y productor valenciano, y amigo de la casa, Pépe, nos entrega una pieza muy especial para las Mix Series: la grabación de su set de Año Nuevo en Laut, Barcelona. Cinco horas de trayecto de intensidad ascendente.

Una apertura amable entre house, tech y electro que avanza con pulso firme hasta adentrarse en terrenos más afilados: breakbeat en expansión y un tramo final apoteósico entre juke, footwork, jungle y otras “trastadas”.

Un recorrido mutante y lleno de intención, de los que piden escucha larga y mente abierta. Embárcate en este vuelo intercontinental.

P.D: 5h son muchas horas para un tracklist pero pedid ID en comments que Pepe os lo busca.
