“THE LAST DAY BEFORE THE LAST DAY”

Tomorrow marks the end of the 2026 Lifetime Grand Prix.

This year has been especially precious for Lauren, with the debut of her elite women’s team. She’s given so much of herself to the ladies of Aegis Next Step Racing. The LTGP is vessel of character-building expeditions, to which Lauren consistently shows her team what is required to take the next step.

Impeccable with her word, Lauren isn’t the type to do or say something that she won’t stand by. I watched her spend her morning with complete deliberation: representing the team at the Enve tent shakeout ride, making sure Mairen was kept company for her openers, and later preparing fresh sourdough for those who take care of her.

At one point, she even said something like… “I’m not doing that; I’m relaxing”

Rightfully so; tomorrow is a big day. by @aegisnextstepracing

When Mach Mairen said she was gonna SEND IT live on global cycling airwaves/various streaming services in the biggest road race on American soil…we knew she meant business. The @philadelphiacyclingclassic was a vibe.

This year, I wanted “it” more than I ever have in my life.

But no matter how badly you want something, you need a network of support to make it a reality.

Thank you to all the people who believe in me & my aspirations, who enable me to pursue pro cycling as a mother.

See you in 2027 by @aegisnextstepracing

The Aegis girls loved Philadelphia! We can’t thank the city enough for the warmth you showed us and the enthusiasm you had for the race. Unlike most other teams, Aegis x Leaders of Enchantment staff and riders opted to stay in the Germantown neighborhood not too far from the Manayunk Wall. We met so many fine folks out in the streets…some of whom watched a bike race for the very first time! This is what it’s all about. Can’t wait for next year. Also…whose cheesesteak was the most culturally authentic? These things matter.

The Philadelphia Cycling Classic has a deep history in USA pro cycling, the first edition in 10 years was met with respect but also colorful passion befitting the character of this great American city. The team Aegis x Leaders of Enchantment pre-race strategy meeting was thorough - for example, a complete reading of the technical guide for the race without a doubt lead to @lollyis_lauren securing the green sprint jersey. The same meeting also emphasized riding with confidence and joy for this incredible sport. This group of women and the team of dedicated staff behind them made the most of this week in Philadelphia, strengthening team bonds, gaining valuable experience and having a damn good time during it all.

Two racers in the break at @philadelphiacyclingclassic. When team Aegis x Leaders of Enchantment driver Uncle Mat Stephens had a gap, he took it. Safely and with commissaire permission of course. by @aegisnextstepracing
