Happy Earth Day from AEG! 🌱

Here are some fun facts from our very own ecologist, Noah! Also known as @quetzalnoatl

Some species of penguins will “propose” to their mate by giving them a pebble, which basically mirrors how I flirt with my partner! 🐧

Female mantids believe in Gaslight Gatekeep Girlboss: after mating, they’ll usually just kill and eat their new husband and we love that for them. 💕

African Buffalos operate in a feminist democracy: when resting, the females will point in the direction they think the herd should travel until a consensus is reached. The males do NOT get a vote. 🦬

The mantis shrimp can punch with a force of 1500 newtons. This is so strong and fast that it causes vacuum bubbles to occur underwater when it hits something. 🫧
