Sharing some of my favorite moments from our adventures with the @begoodfoundation mentorship program at Rebecca’s Private Idaho. Hands down, my favorite experience of all my years in cycling.❤️

Huge thanks to the incredibly talented @meganzabelholmes and @rewikstrom for capturing it all, and endless gratitude to @rebeccarusch and @aerahh for inviting the @worldbicyclerelief team to be part of something so special.

I miss my girl Kendall and can’t wait to see her again next season! 🫶 taken in Sun Valley, Idaho by @aerahh

I believe the whole point of life is:
+ To have as much fun as possible.
+ Do & see & feel as much as you can with grace, generosity, & curiosity.
+ Elevate others along the way. Leave a ripple of love & inside jokes. Bring people in & bring ‘em with you.

The way I know how to do this best can be found in the sweet spot of movement, creativity, and humanity.

I am a hardcore advocate for people sharing their lens of the world. Be there, notice, vibe, and document it. Creative work itself is an act of generosity.

When you point a camera at someone, you signal “I see you. You matter. This matters.”

And so, it was an honor to be a creative mentor alongside the legend herself @rewikstrom and megabadass @annekeller1 alongside the @begoodfoundation.

It was meaningful to share what I’ve learned about building a sustainable career, trusting your voice, showing up as your whole self, knowing and asking for what you’re worth, and taking up space in this industry.

This sometimes looked like making @crawleysoftpen hang in the back of a truck with her camera while I rallied dirt roads for almost 100 miles. But you got the shot, every time, Molly, and I had a blast stoking your stoke. Thanks for the music and laughter and work ethic you brought to this. You’re a real one.

All the women I got to work with on this are talented, ambitious, and going places. Getting to be in their energy was magnetic. Getting to see them share their lens, see things how they saw them was the best part. I learned a lot, too.

And of course, to Rebecca: thank you, @rebeccarusch for bringing everyone together and creating @biglostidaho, for pushing what’s possible, and for reminding people what matters just by being yourself. Thank you for a decade of believing in me, hiring me, talking to me with candor, and relentlessly rooting for me whether it’s a dude, a house project, or a longass caption like this one. I value the longevity and versatility of our friendship so much. Look at this life and this event you made and then brought us all into!!! Hot damn, woman. 👑 You gotta see it to be it, so thanks for everything.

Adventure perfection can only be captured with such a perfectly imperfect group of humans. So grateful they are mine. I can’t imagine doing any sort of life without them. #binos by @aerahh

It’s International Cat Day!!!!

Here’s to Cosmos, the best costume wearing, cat hating, dog & adventure loving Cat that identifies as a dog ever! We’ve got a good thing going, and now that he’s been featured in National Geographic (for real, check out the last pic), I’m not sure how to top this last year together, but I bet we figure it out.😻 by @aerahh

The Cumberlands were some of the first mountains and wilderness that John Muir ever explored. It sparked his curiosity not just for nature but for history. It did ours as well. It was more rugged than we expected, more historical than could know, and more embracing than we could imagine.

“Into the forest I must go to lose my mind and find my soul.” John Muir

If I could give any advice it is to 1) go lose your mind and find your soul…. But make sure you’re with the ones you love the most 2) or just go to the @charitcreeklodgebsf when you are on the brink of losing your mind…. It’s a magical place where all bike packers (and hikers) can find their souls (especially after four days of being wet and disgusting) by @aerahh

“Never go on trips with anyone you do not love.”

Bikepacking the “No Business Loop” in the Big South Fork National Park area Pt1. We were wet, there were a disturbing amount of random old cemeteries (but so freakin cool and Aunt Carolyn would be so proud!), there were no fish, there was a 15lb crystal lamp that now lives with me, we were still wet, no bears, no ticks, and we were wet. So many good times & memories were had, TN/KY backcountry is beautiful…. But I’ve never been so wet not riding in rain.

Also I love these people. And this is all for the fam so I don’t have to start a group text🤣.

Pt. 2 coming soon. by @aerahh

Every August I take some time to look back and be incredibly thankful. Thankful I have two legs, because that was something I wasn’t sure I’d have 4 years ago… thankful I live in this beautiful place, bc it wasn’t even a thought or dream 5 years ago… thankful for the crazy adventure of becoming a firefighter /EMT bc who had a clue I’d love that so much a year ago. Here’s a collage of August adventures with friends that could have had a very different turn that scary life changing August day in 2021…. Here’s to having two legs & two feet for hopefully years to come no matter how jank one might be🤣. And here’s to having so many more August adventures for years to come. by @aerahh

A required social post so the rest of the family can be jealous and maybe follow suit and come visit me too! So much fun showing these two around, giving them a solid taste of my home, and even a bonus of them getting to meet quite a few of my people! There’s no duo quite like my Aunt @beverly.h.jackson.5 & the adopted Crazy Aunt Judy! Thank you for taking a two week roadtrip just to see me🤣. And a huge thanks to @madamichelle & @kiterboi for making this stay extra special and perfect! by @aerahh

48 hr trip to Arkansas in July for the 80th birthday of @beverly.h.jackson.5 100% worth the frizzy hair and 100% humidity. Lessons learned:
—it doesn’t matter how many years you teach jazzercise @lotahardin will only show up when Bev turns 80
—I still have it when it comes to crawdad fishing
—that Arkansas summer shine (sweat) automatically reverts you back to your redneck roots (yes my nephew has a beebee gun, yes my niece fished with a fish eyeball on her hook, yes we caught chickens for the hell if it).
—I might be better at fly fishing than pond fishing… that’s not saying much.
—I am weak and the humidity is strong
—My family is more ridiculous than yours. And that’s the only reason I would ever come back to Arkansas in July!

Love these people. Aunt Bev thank you for being born!!!!!!! by @aerahh

This is real life photo/video shoot life…. balancing dogs, weather, 5am call times, and creating community with two insanely and absurdly talented strangers that had a shared sense of awe for this place and our little tribe we can now call family. Can’t wait to see this NatGeo project come to fruition. Until then here’s a sneak peak… and yes I understand this doesn’t help people understand what my job really is🤣. I kind of like it that way. by @aerahh
