Amazing work by @heliworks , @glaciersouthernlakesheli and firefighters in containing the fire that took place near Walter Peak Station. The fire had burnt through 1400ha and was contained due to the amazing work of firefighters, pilots and many more staff that help behind the scenes.

A fantastic example of the Super Scooper overflow doors in action.

When scooping over a body of water, once the tank is at maximum capacity the water is directed to a pair of overflow ducts and doors high above the waterline on the fuselage.

This acts as both a preventative measure to prevent the tanks bursting or overfilling while scooping at high speeds, and to visually show the pilots that the tanks are full, to retract the scoops and climb back into the air.

🙏 Dignified transfer and procession for Ryan Cutter, @flyprecision helicopter pilot who gave the ultimate sacrifice while working the Dome Fire in California. Cutter and fellow veteran pilot Greg King died on Sept. 20 following a helicopter crash.
