Broadway Bares 2026: License to Strip
was definitely one for the books. My full circle Bares being in @nkenkel 's incredible number dancing his amazing choreography was EVERYTHING. The joy, the love, the empowerment, the support of one another- that is Broadway Bares.

I am in total awe of the generosity of my community this year. You all showed up so much and, because of that, this year I was able to raise $10,525 for Broadway Cares and it's Affiliates, bringing my overall personal fundraising total to $25,580 since 2020!! I also placed in the top 15 highest individual fundraisers this year which makes my heart soar. I truly can't thank you all enough.

Collectively, Broadway Bares + everyone's fundraising, we were able to raise $2.5 MILLION to help people in need!!! WOW!!

Now my Pink Panthers- I absolutely adore all you. This was the best group and I am so lucky to have experienced this with you. AND TEAM PINK PANTHER IS THE 2026 TOP FUNDRAISING TEAM!!! I love you guys so much #daddyon3

Apparently it’s world theatre day. Again. I’ve been holding off on posting this video, or really any videos of me singing for a long long time, so I kind of can’t believe I’m actually posting this 😂. A Chorus Line at @sigtheatre was the highlight of my career to date. I loved everything about this production and everyone who was involved in it. And damn I can’t wait to perform again 💜

(PSA final 15 seconds of this song are for @trevormichaelschmidt, and everyone thinking this isn’t typical Val- you are absolutely correct, the most wonderful part about this production was we were able to bring ourselves to our characters. different choreo, different costumes, same story, just more genuinely us)

Broadway Bares: Pleasure Park was truly “the ride of my life”. Thank you to the incredible team for having me, it was absolutely the best way to be dancing onstage again, and with such amazing people. Proudly, this year, I surpassed all of my previous years in fundraising combined and raised $5033 for Broadway Cares Equity Fights AIDS. In total this year Broadway Bares Stripathon raised a record-breaking $1,887,014!!! THANK YOU so much to everyone who donated. More pictures to come, but it is an honor to be welcomed into the FAMILY that is Bares and my heart is so extremely full. ❤️🎢🏳️‍🌈

Today my pal is @aershow !!!!!!!! My diva my bestie my Brenda !!!!! Primary Immunodeficiency Awareness Month.
1.5 years 38 infusions, approximately 225 needles. And a lifetime to go. A year and a half ago my life changed forever. After 18 years of constantly being sick without answers and being told there’s nothing I could do, I started what will be a lifetime of treatments to save my life. Ever since I was in high school I would get a sinus infection or bronchitis needing antibiotics and steroids every 3-5 weeks. The weather would change, I would get an infection, the cycle was constant and became a normal part of my life causing me to miss work, auditions, and be gaslit for “always being sick” when I really was. I spent thousands of dollars on immune health supplements that never did anything for me and didn’t know why.

It turns out I have something called Hypogammaglobulinemia and CVID -parts of Primary Immunodeficiency - basically I have no immune system. My body does not make what it needs to fight off viruses and infections.

Sept '24 answers came in a very scary way, and the need to start treatment became dire. My numbers were so low and infection rate was so high that I could actually die in a year untreated. Little did I know I could’ve been started on treatment years before, but I had been told there was nothing I could do. It took a new and incredible immunologist fighting endlessly with insurance for 6 weeks to get me the treatment I need. This treatment however is no fun. I went from in-hospital to at home self administered SCIG infusions due to IVIG causing Aseptic Meningitis. I have an irrational fear of needles that I had to get over really quick in order to do the at home infusions. There were about 2 months where my body wasn’t used to healthy blood cells and antibodies and this adjustment period caused 24/7 fatigue, brain fog, and at one point my legs fully gave out on me for a few days. I thought my normal life and career were over. I thought I’d never be able to dance again, because I could barely walk. Once I became adjusted, other than having to do these infusions every other week, I got my life back in a way that I didn’t know was possible. (Continued in the comments below) by @aershow
