Chapter 29: The finale of this decade and the best version yet 🦋… and I’m just getting started.This birthday, I’m entering the new year, spiritually full and mentally free, and for that I’m boundlessly grateful. As a type A creative, I’ve felt like my world was falling apart for the last couple of years while I chased structure in the mist of transitions and newness. I STRUGGLED with not having control over my life and not knowing what was coming next. Because of that, I silently and mentally suffered in a cycle of depression and anxiety as I couldn’t keep up with the blessings I prayed for, so God started pruning me. He pruned me of imposter syndrome, self-doubt, procrastination, and laziness. He showed me what true surrender to His word looks like and every time I started backsliding, He showed me that He never left my side and reminded me of who I was through who He is. After that, I never looked back.I’m a creative that loves storytelling through visuals and also a business girly that loves strategic planning meetings, Excel docs, and powerpoints. I’m a young Nigerian American that loves her culture and an open-minded Zillennial that questions everything and doesn’t always agree with the traditional way of doing things. I’m a new wife that cherishes her individuality and loves learning how to submit to and serve her husband while building our own version of the modern Christian family. I’m a little girl that LOVES God and has devoted everything to serving Him and still struggles with being obedient and consistent.Here’s to embracing every season of life & version of yourself, trusting the journey, and shining brighter than ever before.
