Background works I did for [Kaibigan, Ka-ibigan] a historical filipino visual novel ! This was done for a final project in one of my majors, in collaboration with @/p1nkgremlin @/flureily

The story is set in the 19th century Manila, about a young man helping his best friend court a girl while griping over his own feelings ⏳

I’m really happy to have been part of this project hehe. I’m glad I was able to actually do background works—something that I don’t usually do. Making the backgrounds for this and my previous game project really helped me relearn rendering and in a way helped with my perfectionist tendency. I was able to let loose and start somewhere where I haven’t yet boxed myself into. Working on these really taught me a lot and I’m so excited to apply them to my personal works soon:)

Not my usual post but I think this game deserves to be shown here:P
“Ang Commute ni Bangus” follows a student’s daily commute through the streets of Manila, highlighting the challenges they face along the way. Its goal is to serve as a light social commentary and raise awareness of the difficulties students encounter when commuting in the Philippines, including broken or uneven sidewalks, obstructed pathways, and other barriers that make traveling more difficult.

This is the first game I’ve ever made and I’m glad I was able to put as much effort as I could to it🙂‍↕️ With that said, I do think there’s still a bunch of stuff missing and I wanted to add but due to time constraints, this is all of it for now. I didn’t like coding at all but the visuals for this game really kept me going lol.
