Abbotts finish the season off with a win! Unfortunately I wasn’t there this weekend so I can’t give a report. But a brilliant 1-0 win away to @atwfootballclub really happy for the boys to finish off the season with a win and a clean sheet, heard they was excellent. Really proud of this group of players, commitment and great vibes throughout the sqaud all year even when things haven’t gone our way! We are probably a little disappointed with our finishing position in the league, but there were some outstanding displays throughout the season, and hopefully we can really kick on next season, we firmly believe we have a squad capable of much much more, so now to enjoy the summer off. And get back going again in August when we plan to get our pre-season friendlies going then. The boys travelled to Cuffley for the penultimate game of the season, with a few of the boys on holiday, we faced the challenge of the game with bare 11, so we was always in for a tough test, and I’ll be honest I thought the boys played brilliantly, the effort was fantastic and we really knocked the ball round well at times, and on another day with some subs I genuinely believe we could walk away from this game with 3 points! The game well contested and even through out the first half, chances for both teams, but the subs from the opposition were keeping the legs fresh for them. About 5 mins into the 2nd half they made the breakthrough, some well worked play down the right hand side found their striker who chested the ball in to his path and slotted into the far corner. And about 10 mins later we found ourself 2-0 after Harry dropped the in swinging free kick and they finished into an empty net, they made more subs keeping their legs fresh and we kept chasing and thought we had found a way back into the game but for an unbelievable save from the goalkeeper after he clawed Kai’s volley from Alfie’s brilliant cross onto the crossbar and the gaffa Luke had his cross/shot tipped round the post. But unfortunately we had just run out of puff as the second half wore on. But i’ll give credit to my boys, they worked their fucking socks off and I’m proud of how they handled themselves today. Catching up on a few matches 29/03 We hosted league leaders @upfc_mens at Hartham, and despite a strong first half, a penalty just before halftime put the visitors up 1-0. We equalized early in the second half but the visitors responded quickly and scored 3 more, including a peach of a free kick. 5/04 We traveled to Old Owen's for a friendly against Div 2 @northsidespartans, starting poorly and conceding an own goal within the first minute. However, we regrouped and finished the half strongly, leveling the score 1-1 at halftime thanks to @eddieo_2's cool finish. In the second half, @archie.wolf's hard work on the right flank led to @brandon.swift9's much-needed goal. 12/04 We welcomed @fcwestmillboca to Hartham for our last home game, starting slowly and conceding two impressive goals. @jackwells.11 pulled one back, but we went down 3-1 before @archie.wolf scored our second just before halftime. Despite knocking on the door in the second half, Westmill scored a fourth and although @jackwells.11 scored a penalty, they sealed the win with a fifth goal. 26/04 We traveled to Laura Trott to face @cheshuntatleticofc, starting strong and taking the lead when @_laneoss headed home from a @alfie.sanderson19 corner. However, we let them back in with sloppy defending from a free kick, and it was 1-1 at halftime. We played well in the second half and were rewarded with about 15 minutes left when a through ball from new boy Kai gave @archie.wolf the opportunity to put us 2-1 up, which he did with a composed finish. However, sloppy work from a free kick undid our hard work, and it was 2-2 with little time left. Captain @calvinsanderson_ had a header disallowed, but he stepped up last minute, scoring a last-second winner from another @alfie.sanderson19 corner- Proudly Sponsored by @whymedia - @luchmun.studios - @nickolds_property - @verofinance_ by @afc.abbotts

Defeat at Goffs. Yesterday saw us travel to Goffs lane to take on Southbury ‘B’ who are chasing a promotion spot. The game started off even in the middle of the park, but what we thought was a good tackle by Danny Jarvis to block a shot was seen differently by the ref and he pointed to the spot, where the striker tucked it away to put them 1-0 up, we then had a perfectly good penalty of our own turned away by the ref which saw them counter from and put them 2-0 up, and then very quickly add a 3rd after a long ball caused us some confusion and saw their striker nip in and tap into an empty goal, later in the half we had 2 more penalties turned down by the ref and it left the Abbotts boys wondering if we was going to get anything from him. 3-0 down at half time, 2nd half we made some changes and started much better than the first, knocking the ball around and creating a few chances that we couldn’t seem to tuck away, but we kept plugging and at around the 70 minute mark, a long throw got us back into the game, with the ball bouncing around the 6 yard box, @dannyjarviss managed to get a decisive touch, game on! We kept plugging away having a lot more of the ball and knocking on the door, Southbury defending their goal well, and with 5 mins to go, Captain @calvinsanderson_ unleashed a rocket into the top corner to make it a nail biting the end, and we nearly got our reward for the 2nd half performance when a corner caused more chaos and Calvin nearly getting the equaliser but for a brilliant save from the goalkeeper tipping it onto the bar. Unfortunately we fall short but the 2nd half efforts from the boys deserved way more, onwards and upwards to next week! Abbotts held in close encounter. The Gaffa received two early morning WhatsApp messages, one at 4:45 AM and the other at 8:30 AM, informing us that they wouldn't make it, leaving us with a bare 11. Injured Alf and 17-year-old Joe stepped up to fill the bench. We started strong, taking an early lead after a good string of passes found @danflorido8, who delivered a beautiful cross to @myleswalton. Cuffley equalized after we failed to clear a cross, and soon we were 2-1 down after a beauty from 25-yard out. But the boys didn't give up. A long ball over the top confused their defense, allowing Myles to find the top corner from the right hand side of the box. 2-2 at halftime. The second half evenly contested, with both teams creating few chances. Gaffa @luke_harvey98 came close with an ambitious effort from the half way line. Shoutout to @j.millls, the 17-year-old who handled his men's football debut well. Big shoutout to the team for getting a result despite the morning's challenges. Hopefully, availability improves as we head into the season's crunch time. Still only one loss in 2026. We keep moving. Abbotts stretch the unbeaten run to 4 after revenge on Green rangers. The boys welcomed Green rangers to Hartham looking to avenge our 5-3 defeat to them earlier on in the season and that we did. The morning was looking bleak after 2 drop outs and one of the boys not even turning up at all, leaving us with 1 man on the bench. The opening 45 was a tough half with both teams defending well and the majority of the game being played in the middle of the park, Gaffa @luke_harvey98 spurned the best opportunity of the first half after some lovely one touch football he couldn’t wrap his foot around it and put it just wide of the post but that chance lifted the Abbotts spirit, and started the 2nd half much better and after a spell of sustained pressure, our left wing back @danny.sanderson01 knocked the ball brilliantly past the opposition right back and was then completely wiped out by the covering centre half who definitely should’ve been shown a 2nd yellow for the challenge. @jackwells.11 stepped up and confidently slotted his penalty away and continued his brilliant scoring streak that he is on at the moment, with the tails up we continued to look for a second and about 10 mins from the end the Gaffa after many opportunities finally put a good ball into the box and @stan_milner04 was there to head brilliantly into the far corner, and not long after brilliant pressing work by @brandon.swift9 allowed Stan to pick up the ball glide past the defenders and slot coolly past the on rushing keeper and put the game to bed. 3 Points that the boys did have to work really hard for and credit to Green Rangers they worked really hard all game and played the game in good spirits. Good luck to them for the rest of the season! Proudly Sponsored by @whymedia - @luchmun.studios - @nickolds_property - @verofinance_ We appreciate your continued support this season! This morning saw @goldengriffinfc welcome us to their humble abode of presdales, which saw us walk away with all 3 points. A change of personal in certain positions today, saw the gaffa @luke_harvey98 step in the sticks after our normal No1 @94.hbp stuck a nail through his finger at work this week, and it was the gaffa who was involved straight away collecting a poor Griffin free kick and sending @jackwells.11 away with a long kick, where the opposition GK misjudged the bounce and Jack tapped into an empty net to put us 1-0 up after 5 mins, not long after @alfie.sanderson19 scored his first goal of the season directly from a corner with a delicious delivery being missed by everyone and smashing into the back of the net, we go into the break 2-0 up. Griffin started the 2nd half with more intent and we seemed to take our foot off the gas a little, not long after they were handed a lifeline back into the game after the ref deemed a 50/50 in the box between Luke and the opposition striker a penalty (I feel hard done by I can’t lie, thought I got the ball) but after the collision Luke had to go of injured and Alfie donned the gloves for the rest of the game, unfortunately couldn’t keep out the resulting penalty, and then with momentum with them, they found an equaliser after @h.gee19 unfortunately turned the ball into his own net, but the game wasn’t done, we didn’t give up and with not long left, the griffin keeper saved brilliantly from @danflorido8 goal bound header, but who was there to tap home the rebound? That’s right our normal No1 @94.hbp the Lino did have his flag up but he never actually managed to keep up with play the whole time he was doing it so the ref deemed it onside and with that, 3 points for the Abbotts! Tough game, but a very rewarding victory! Onto the next against Green Rangers! A Sunday morning trip to Hatfield saw us take on @welwynstmarys today - Low on numbers we knew we was in for a proper graft this morning, and we started the game reasonably well, and got our break through after superb wing back play saw @harrydrage_ beat two men and then was tripped by the third on the byline resulting in an Abbotts penalty, which @jackwells.11 slotted away calmly sending the opposition keeper the wrong way. Unfortunately a lapse in concentration saw the home side get an equaliser not to long after, leaving an evenly contested first half level going into the break. Both teams came back out into the second half with intentions of winning the game, in a really well contested second half between two good sides, chances for both as the gaffer @luke_harvey98 failed to capitalise on a really good opening for the Abbotts after @_laneoss drove forward and set up a lovely cut back, which Luke failed to slot home with his first time finish, as the game was reaching an end, @archie.wolf who wasn’t even supposed to be playing as he leaves to work away for the next few weeks, thought he gave us the perfect send off as he stepped up and struck a beautiful free kick into the top corner, but again our hard work was undone through another lapse of concentration after kick off allowed the home team to work the ball into the byline and cut it back for their player to tap in from close range, a draw that feels like a lose, two points dropped rather than a point gained but that’s football and you will be punished if you fail to stay switched on! But credit to @welwynstmarys on a great game played in good spirits, wish them the best of luck for the rest of the season! - Proudly Sponsored by @whymedia - @luchmun.studios - @nickolds_property - @verofinance_ we appreciate your continued support! by @afc.abbotts

Abbotts held at home. We went into yesterdays game with a good feeling especially after last weeks 3-0 dispatch of Waltham Abbey, but it was the away side who I would say started the better, knocking the ball around nicely and thought they found their opener when their striker slotted in but it was disallowed for offside, then an untimely sin bin for Arch allowed them to knock the ball around more, but after the 10 mins had been done, we started to pick the ball up ourselves and play some better football and was rewarded with a really well worked goal after nice link up play In their third @calvinsanderson_ slotted the ball beautifully between the lines for @jackwells.11 to run on to and place through the goal keepers legs, we finished the half much better than when we started it. 2nd half started they made a few changes and they again probably started the better of the two teams, but the boys stood firm and defended brilliantly nullifying them when they ventured into our third, the lack of numbers for us made it difficult for us to make changes but having lost two players half way through the second half because of their commitments elsewhere, we made changes and unfortunately not long after they got themselves a goal, tbf their player did really well beating a few of our players but his tame effort just going underneath the dive of Harry found its way into the bottom corner, both teams then pushed for a winner, their player striking the bar with a really well struck shot and then @brandon.swift9 trying to catch their keeper out who somehow managed to tip his effort brilliantly over the crossbar. A good game between two good sides, with a lot of the football contested in the middle of the pitch. Points shared but should make for an exciting return fixture when ever that may be! 3 games to bring you up to date on! Had to time for admin tbf. Our first game after the new year after multiple games called off. Saw us take on Waltham Abbey FC on Sunday the 18th of Jan, saw us 2-0 up very early on after dominating the opening half hour, @archie.wolf and @jackwells.11 supplying the goals, but a terrible end to the first half saw us concede 2 in 2 mins letting them back in the game, I would say we controlled a large part of the 2nd half but just couldn’t seem to take our chances. Sunday the 25th saw us take on Southbury ‘B’ which was another game where I feel like we dominated large parts of it, but when you have a ref that was as bad as ours it’s hard to pick up points, not giving 2 penalties and just favouring the other team in every aspect, not giving fouls for us but giving them against us for the exact same type of challenges, and it was our visitors who went onto score with their only shot on target throughout the 90mins with 15 mins remaining. Undeserved L. And Today we welcomed Waltham Abbey to Hartham in a quick return fixture, and it was the same story as we started the much better team and took the lead after @danny_piper_ scored one of the most technically outrageous goals I’ve ever seen(the keeper let it through his legs) 5 mins in, we didn’t let up as shortly after @archie.wolf doubled our lead and then tripled it minutes later and then just controlled the game throughout, @hpower.electrical saving the only shot on target and our first cleano of the season (long overdue) every player that stepped onto the pitch was excellent today and a really proud performance to get us back to winning ways. After a few weeks without a game, we travelled to early season pace setters @fcwestmillboca and It was them who took the lead early on who after more sloppy work at defending long throws into the box. We then grew into the game and had a decent spell of pressure and got our rewards after the gaffa @luke_harvey98 found @archie.wolf who beat the offside trap and slotted past the keeper, Arch finding the net again after a couple games without doing so. Then 5/10 mins later our hard work was undone as a wide Westmill free kick some how found its way into the net through a crowded penalty area, we still had our chances but unfortunately we couldn’t take advantage of them and went into the break 2-1 down, a half time team talk and a firm belief that if we went about it the right way we could definitely get something out of this game, 10 mins into the second half a driving run from @jackwells.11 who managed to poke the ball to the gaffa @luke_harvey98 curled the ball over the Westmill keeper from 20 yards out, 2-2 all to play for, we made some changes, but only having 2 subs we had to be mindful, with about 20-25 mins to go, Westmill got their third after their player managed to squeeze the ball in from a tight angle, we chased and the game got very stretched with tired legs from two teams who had put their all into the game, and just before the end, we thought we had found an equaliser when @danny_piper_ headed in from a corner only for the ref to blow for a foul for a push on the keeper. We lose 3-2 which is a disappointing result, but the boys gave everything, unfortunately the lack of subs for us just took its toll, with no game until the new year, we get back to training with the ambition to have a big push in the new year. Two games to report as I was on holiday so didn’t get round to doing it. Unfortunately we bowed out of the two cups we’re were left in over the last couple weeks. Last Sunday we had a Junior divisional shield fixture with @bxbalbion and they won that with 2 first half corners, I can’t give a full update, but in the 2nd half I heard we was denied a route back in after the ref didn’t see the ball had hit the back of the net. But good luke to Albion in the next round! Today saw us take on @easthertsfc in what was a very tight County cup encounter, I would say they started the brighter side for the first 5/10 mins but for the rest of the half I would say we had the better of, we missed a few chances then their keeper made a worldie double save from Archie one on one and then somehow getting back to save Danny Sandersons effort which looked destined for the back of the net, 0-0 at half time, things were really positive and East herts then came out in the 2nd half strong again, we rode the wave and then created a few more chances for ourselves. Then the visitors took the lead we gave the ball away and their winger punished us, our first bit of slack play in our third all game, we then gave them a penalty which was brilliantly saved by @94.hbp and then made another cracking save from the rebound, unfortunately it just wasn’t falling for us and couldn’t get an equaliser, but I thought we played really really well and worked as hard as we could, a lot of positives to take, yes we’re out the cup but a realising of what mindset we need to have going forward with the league! Good luck to East Herts in the next round UTFA💚🖤 Proudly Sponsored by @whymedia @luchmun.studios @nickolds_property @verofinance_ by @afc.abbotts
