Visarjan Letting Go

As you return to your abode,
you leave us with blessings,
with love, with devotion
and wisdom for all of us.

You arrived amidst grand celebration,
and now, with gentle grace,
you leave us a little wiser,
a little fuller,
until we meet again.

This farewell is only a formality
you never truly leave.
Your presence is already within us,
quietly unfolding in our silence.

And yet, I choose to do this every year
this beautiful ritual of letting go,
an excuse to celebrate your coming,
your grace and your love

Until we meet again.
With love, with faith,
and with a heart full of gratitude.

Guru Purnima, for me, is an opportunity to pause, reflect, and recognize how much I have grown through the teachings of my Gurudev, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.

It is a day to express my heartfelt gratitude for the wisdom, guidance, and unconditional love that have illuminated my path. It is also a time to renew my commitment to walk the path my Gurudev has envisioned for me with sincerity, humility, and a spirit of service.

A Guru offers not just knowledge, but the awakening of the best version of myself.

A sweet little moment from our SKY courses 🙂

We were both running courses at the same time. One online and the other in person, on two different floors of the house. And somehow, without planning anything, everything just synced up. The breaks matched, the sessions flowed together, and even the SKY Kriya started at exactly the same time.

For a while it felt like the whole house was breathing in the same rhythm.

The nicest part was what happened right after the Kriya. In both groups, the very first thing people said was almost identical:
“I’m feeling really good… thank you so much… I haven’t felt like this in a while.”

Hearing the same words coming from two different floors made us just smile at each other.

Divinity is present everywhere, in every particle of creation. Yet, as devotees, we sometimes long to connect and play with the divine in a form. That’s why we create an idol of Lord Ganesha from mud, offer him flowers, fruits, sweets, and light, and celebrate with gratitude. The rituals are a way of saying, “All that you have given me, I offer back to you.” In the end, during Visarjan, we return the idol to water, reminding ourselves that Ganesha was never limited to the form—he comes from our heart, resides in the idol for a while, and then returns back into our heart. 🌸🙏
