You honestly couldn't write this... 😳🐈

Teaching an emergency stop... then a cat ran straight into the road 🤯🐈

The most unexpected (and perfect) real-life lesson. Thankfully, the pupil reacted well, stayed in control and brought the car to a safe stop! 🚗💨

"Was that my fault?"
The famous question from a learner. But not everything that goes wrong on the road is the learners fault! 🤣🚗
This lesson was chaos, it felt like tricky situations were flying at us from every angle, but this one was top tier 🫣

Why get out and walk around, when you can simply climb across 💃🏻😆

The famous Driving Instructor hop over 🤣

Would you know what speed to do here? 👀
We’ve just come through roadworks where the limit was 40mph… then we pass a school and suddenly there’s a 20mph school-zone sign! 🚗💨
My pupil was understandably thinking, “Surely we should carry on at 20mph?!” 😅
But there’s an important detail to spot.
The 20mph sign wasn’t flashing, so at that moment the 20mph school-zone restriction wasn’t in operation — meaning the 40mph limit continued.

It’s a great reminder that when you’re driving, you need to look at the whole picture, not just react to one sign. 🧐

P.s. my husband calls me an uncoordinated satnav - but maybe I'm just indecisive? 😅

👀 Can you spot what my pupil missed?

She forgot her cross-check as we went through a crossroads.

Cross-checks aren't just for passing your test—they're there to keep you and everyone around you safe. A quick glance right and left as you enter the junction, can reveal a cyclist, a vehicle that has ran an amber/red light or even an emergency vehicle before it sounds it's sirens.

It's a common learner mistake, but one that's so important to get right.

Did you spot it before I explained? 👇

🚦 We had a green light… but we couldn't just go. One car's poor lane positioning meant we had to pause, check our mirrors, and adapt. This is why lane discipline matters.
What would you have done here? 🤔 Would you have held back like us, or pushed to the front and impacted the lane on the left? Or something different entirely?! 🚗👇🏻

Most learner drivers aren't taught this... 👀

When changing gears:
👎 Thumb down for gears 1 & 2
👍 Thumb up for everything else

Also known as the 'palming' technique. It's a simple habit that can make your gear changes smoother and more accurate.

Did your instructor teach you this? 👇

Can you spot the fault here at the dreaded Quarterbridge roundabout? 👀
Bonus point if you can explain why it's a fault.

🚗 Roundabouts!!

My pupil checked right… but missed the car already on the roundabout doing a U-turn 👀

Remember:
✅ Check approaching traffic
✅ Check traffic already ON the roundabout
❌ Don’t gamble gaps
🚗 A roundabout is a GIVE WAY, not a race.
