🦂🫶🏾✨November to Reminisce & Persist ✨🫶🏾🦂

In Türkiye, where the old and new collide, 🕌🏜️
I celebrated my 40th with gratitude and cake by the side 🎂
Thankful for life’s sweet, winding lanes, 🎢
And good health coursing through my veins. 🫀

Wisdom gathered, treasures found, 💎
With freedom to explore the world around. 🌍
From Trinidad’s shores to Barbados’ sands, 🏖️
Four continents lived and shaped, I always knew I can. 🗺️

Family and friends, my heart always embrace, 🫂
In every land, always finding a familiar face. 😊
In this Turkish dawn, I toast to more years, 🥂
To laughter, love (ones & twos 👶🏽) and joyous tears.

Blessed by cultures, a life so grand, 💵
With every step proudly I stand. 💪🏾
Here’s to 40 more, with new mates my core ⭕️,
More adventures and joy awaiting on every shore. 🌊 by @afi__h

🚨Island gyal appointed to join the ranks of the Royal Society 🚨- so gassed to be able to have access and resources to make more impact.

I am incredibly honored and humbled to announce that I have been appointed as a Young Academy of Scotland #YAS member of the prestigious #RoyalSocietyofEdinburgh. This news was no easy feat stacking up against 100s of other candidates.

This milestone is testimony to self belief and resilience charged to a culmination of years of dedication to impactful industry projects, research, and collaboration with some of the most committed, diligent and brightest minds in my field.

I am beyond thrilled to join the ranks of the nations most illustrious and innovative professionals who have made significant contributions to advancing knowledge and driving progress within Scotland and globally.

Upgraded from long-distance kisses to European adventures 🇪🇺👩🏾‍🤝‍👩🏽#momanddaughter #momandhersweetoneson #boymom
Every cobblestone street, jetset, castle, quaint city and stunning sunsets was sweeter every day we spent side by side. Multiplied 10x when Marvz joined the bandwagon. T’was one for the 📚 #reunited #reunion #euromagic #parisolympics2024🇫🇷 #sweeterthanahsnowconetoottoot by @afi__h

Tourism
Memory
Heritage
3 words, 3 meanings, 3 worldviews, 3 geographies, multilayered lived experiences, culture and memories.
A Reconceptualisation effort is needed to weave the black epistemologies (Africa, Caribbean/Americas & Diaspora) in these concepts and their meanings. by @afi__h
