‎Dear stakeholders, players, coaches, administrators, basketball enthusiasts and everyone contributing to the growth of Nigerian basketball, Most of you know me as the media guy, the stats guy, or someone who is constantly documenting, analysing and telling the stories of our game. Over the years, my involvement in basketball has allowed me to see the sport from different perspectives, understand its challenges and appreciate the opportunities that exist within our ecosystem. ‎ ‎Today, I am introducing something different. ‎ ‎I am proud to introduce RIMCITY — "Own Your Court" a Nigerian born basketball gaming franchise i recently co-founded with a vision that extends beyond gaming. ‎ ‎The idea came from a question I have often considered: How do we get more people interested in basketball, including those who have never played the sport, watched a game, or felt connected to the basketball community? ‎ ‎I believe gaming can be part of the answer. ‎ ‎RIMCITY is being developed around Nigerian basketball culture, familiar courts, local environments, and interactive experiences that allow people to engage with the game in a different way. ‎ ‎Imagine someone who has never stepped into a basketball arena becoming interested in the sport because they can virtually play on a court they recognise in their own city. That experience could spark curiosity, create familiarity and eventually lead them to follow actual games, support teams, recognise players and become fans of basketball. ‎ ‎That is the bigger idea behind RIMCITY. ‎ ‎We are not just building a basketball game; we are exploring a new way to develop basketball audiences. ‎ ‎For me, this is a natural extension of my work in the ecosystem. I have spent time documenting the game, tracking its numbers, telling its stories and creating platforms for basketball conversations. With RIMCITY, I am taking another step in moving from documenting the ecosystem to building a product that could contribute to its growth. ‎ ‎We currently just rolled out a playable prototype stage with regular basketball player/coach activity featured in it, and there is still work to be done. I understand that building a sustainable gaming f by @afiemo_

‎RIMCITY PLAYER CAREER MODE: MORE THAN JUST BASKETBALL! ‎ ‎In my opinion, Player Career Mode has to be one of the most realistic parts of RIMCITY because it mirrors the everyday life, struggles, choices and ambitions of the average Nigerian basketball player. ‎ ‎Here’s where it gets interesting. 👇🏾 ‎ ‎You sign up with a team of your choice and fight to earn your spot. You wake up, choose what to eat, head to training or attend classes (yes, education is a prerequisite in our Player Career Mode). You can pursue a diploma, play pickup games, build your reputation, earn cash, buy basketball gear like shoes, bags, and shooting sleeves and upgrade them as you progress. ‎ ‎But life in RIMCITY goes beyond the court! ‎ ‎-Play league games or simulate them and watch your team rise or fall on the league table. ‎ ‎-Earn money, build your reputation, and improve your lifestyle. ‎ ‎-Buy and upgrade your basketball gear. ‎ ‎-Take a Danfo to training or games, or buy a car when you can afford one. ‎ ‎-Attend radio interviews and build your public profile. ‎ ‎-Go for players' nights out, visit nightclubs, and hang out at the mall. ‎ ‎-Organise basketball camps for kids and contribute to the next generation. ‎ ‎-Spend time with family, get a girlfriend, take her out for dinner, and experience life beyond basketball. ‎ ‎Every decision contributes to your journey as a player. You're not just controlling a basketball player; you're shaping a career, building a reputation, managing your resources, and navigating life as a Nigerian hooper. ‎ ‎And this is only the beginning. More features and updates are coming as we continue to develop the RIMCITY experience. ‎ ‎We're building something that feels familiar to our basketball community, with the ambition of bringing even more people into the sport through gaming. ‎ ‎RIMCITY — OWN YOUR COURT. ‎ ‎Visit rimcity.app on your browser tilt your phone and experience basketball gaming the naija way. ‎ ‎#RIMCITY #OwnYourCourt #NigerianBasketball #BasketballGaming ‎ by @afiemo_
