Last but certainly not least, the next and final set of teachers for the upcoming AFIntensive: Collab Edition are none other than thee @emmasievert and @olyviachandler ! They will be teaching Advanced Heels! Olyvia: Olyvia grew up in Michigan, dancing competitively since she was 9 years old. After graduating, she attended CLI Conservatory where she was mentored by Teddy Forance and learned from some of the industry’s best choreographers such as Brian Nicholson, Talia Favia, Brian Friedman, etc. She has performed with artists: Shaboozey, Lloyd, Lay Bankz, 42 Dugg, and Gmac Cash, and currently is a Detroit Pistons Dancer. Her main goal as a teacher is to challenge and push her students to grow while maintaining a space for creativity, fun, and exploration. Emma: Emma Sievert grew up training in ballet from a young age, developing a strong technical foundation. Her training led her to working with companies such as BalletMet and later took her across the globe to Universal Studio in China. While abroad, Emma discovered her love for heels, blending technique and expression. She has worked with Millennium Dance Complex China and dance for iconic artist like Lil Kim and Bobby Valentino. Emma brings an empowering energy to class - encouraging dancer to own thier space and express their truth! Full class passes are $40 and single class passes are $15! Show them some love!!! Your next set of teachers for the upcoming AFIntensive: Collab Edition are none other than @ponytailderrick and @sammy_bbbyy ! They will be teaching Intermediate Jazz Funk! Derrick: Derrick is a passionate dancer and founder of “Thee Plastic Dollz,” a high-energy crew he launched in 2020. Since then, he’s choreographed and toured nationally with DJ/Recording Artist Wreckno, filming music videos and lighting up stages across the country. Catch Derrick teaching weekly at Release Dance Studio in Ferndale, where he continues to spread joy—one 8-count at a time. Sammy: Samantha Messina was born & raised in Detroit, where she was technically trained for 15 years before attending one year as a dance major at OU. After having to give up a full ride dance scholarship due to chronic health problems she graduated at Central Michigan University with an education major & dance minor. There she directed & choreographed an award winning original sponsored production, as well as being a member & choreographer of the University Dance Company. After college she joined The Plastic Dollz dance crew where she continues to create new work. She has over 10 years experience performing & choreographing in the entertainment industry with credits that include artists like Wreckno, Griz, Yvie Oddly, DEV, Evezic & more. As she persists through her health constraints, Samantha now focuses on her creative strengths of choreographing, while also passing down her technical knowledge to the next generation of dancers & creators in the classroom. Full class passes are $40 and single class passes are $15! Show them some love!!! Flyer template courtesy of @bee_jay_gee taken in Andy Arts by @afintensive

Our first set of teachers for AFIntensive: Collab Edition! Show some love to @_jaycerothrock_ and @zariyanami teaching Intermediate Hip Hop!!! Jayce: Jayce started her dance journey at age 3 at a local studio in her hometown, Clarkston, MI. She grew up training in multiple styles, but found a stronger love for Hip-hop and jazz funk. She trained in LA for dance for about a year before coming home (due to COVID🥲) From there she began training and working for RELEASE, Undergods dance crew, Concrete company, and choreographing/performing for local Detroit artist Racquel Soledad. Her goals as a teacher are to make sure everyone walks out having learned something and that everyone had fun :) Zariya: Zariya is a self-taught, Hip-hop focused dancer who grew up learning from the greats on YouTube. She started training in drop-in classes in 2022 and, since then, has developed a love for Hip-hop choreography and an even deeper love for freestyle. She believes that experience and intention are the best teachers and hopes to inspire others that don’t necessarily come from traditional dance backgrounds. Registration opens this Friday! $40 for all 3 classes, $15 per class! Flyer template courtesy of @bee_jay_gee ! taken in Andy Arts by @afintensive

📆SAVE THE DATE: AFINTENSIVE COLLAB EDITION 📆 We are so excited to announce the next AFIntensive happening in Detroit, Michigan on August 24th!!! The theme of this intensive will be TWOs!! Each class will be taught by TWO amazing teachers who collaborated on a piece! And each class will be TWO hours long so we can really get as much as we can from these classes and teachers! Teachers will be revealed starting tomorrow and registration will open Friday, August 8 at 6PM! Full intensive pass will be $40 and single class passes are $15! Our mission has always been to provide affordable and accessible training and to bring the Detroit dance community together! We recognize that the current landscape of dance has been shaped and influenced by immigrants and other cultures and because of this, we want the focus of this intensive to be more than just our own Detroit dance community. This year, we wanted to use our platform to give back to a those who aren’t as fortunate as us. All proceeds from the intensive will be donated to the Immigration Legal Resource Center (ILRC) @the_ilrc . The ILRC is a nonprofit that provides resources to immigrants and works to promote and defend immigrant rights through education, technical assistance, and policy advocacy.  It would be amazing for us to come together as a dance community and be able to give back while doing what we love! If you can’t make it to class or the intensive, but would still like to donate, you are more than welcome and are encouraged to! Classes will be filmed by @opey2dopey Thank you @andyartcenter for allowing us to use your space! Flyer design template courtesy of @bee_jay_gee Comment below any guesses to who you think the teachers for this intensive will be 👀 by @afintensive
