I was able to visit a lot of places this summer, and while in Badlands National Park, I took a small detour to Pine Ridge Reservation. It’s one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been, and the people I talked to in Wounded Knee were incredibly kind.

At the same time, it’s a population that faces an unemployment rate that’s in the 80-85% range, where approximately 50% of the population lives below the poverty line, and the average life expectancy is one of the shortest in the entire western hemisphere.

It’s on my mind because yesterday was the 135th anniversary of the Wounded Knee Massacre, which saw US Cavalry kill 250 Lakota people, many of which were women and children killed by Hotchkiss guns fired indiscriminately into their tipi camp. 31 soldiers were given Medals of Honor, and 19 were specifically awarded for the actions taken at Wounded Knee. This decision was upheld this year by Pete Hegseth, who called these murderers “brave.”

Information age of hysteria, it’s calling out to idiot America.

It didn’t bring a title, but what a delightful morning with the Utah Gooners. @soanei and I started this up back in February and two people showed up. Today we had 41 people (30 pictured) there to watch Arsenal beat Everton 2-1.

This is my club. I fucking love this football club, and I can’t wait for our next campaign. by @afistfulofdynamite
