AFJ Workshop Collaboration Series 🔥 What a journey. From AfroFusion to Congo x Ivory Coast, Afro x Hip Hop, Modern x Traditional, and most recently, Fusion Choreography. Each workshop brought something distinct, powerful, and deeply rooted in culture 🔥🔥Thank you to all the incredible guest collaborators who shared their unique styles, perspectives, and creative leadership with us. Through Afro Dance, we celebrate our heritage, showing that no matter where we go or what challenges we face, our culture, art, and history remain deeply rooted within us, unshakable and ever-present. It was a beautiful night 🔥 The concept for this dance set: ‘Journey to greatness’ by @plamedi_santima (choreographer).“Understanding what that means to oneself on a personal level, rather than what may be conveyed as greatness and projected onto us by our society. Focusing on the most powerful obstacle which is the mind: Dealing with the battles of the mind, preventing oneself from reaching greatness. Embracing the fight and as a result evoking inner greatness.”full-length video on our YouTube channel ✨Big love to our performance family, for their commitment and for always trusting the process of whatever is given to them. They are all incredible, special and bring something unique to the team as individuals.This set was a team effort and dancers such as @ta_dala were encouraged to step out of their comfort zone and contribute to the steps/choreography, embracing their creative talents.
