Wat zijn À Fonds sessies?

“À Fonds sessies” is een nieuw initiatief waarbij jongeren, projecten en organisaties samenkomen om kennis, ervaringen en expertise te delen. Tijdens deze sessies leer je van experts en professionals uit verschillende vakgebieden aan de hand van workshops, vormingen, talks en masterclasses.

Het doel is om een inspirerende omgeving te creëren waar iedereen, ongeacht hun achtergrond of doel, waardevolle inzichten en vaardigheden kan opdoen. Op de À Fonds-sessies is iedereen welkom die een project voor of door jongeren uitvoert!

We were still mixing the paint when the first people walked in…
That’s how it started. One hour late, colours not decided yet, four of us shouting across the screen table, and already a queue of people leaning against the pavilion like it was a bar, waiting for their print.

212 people came through the Warandepark on May 23. 156 prints made. 4 hours. The first 30 shirts and all the prints of that day were free and you liked it !! The most printed design of the day? “The Sound of Bruxelles”, French and English at once, because that’s what this city sounds like.

@kiosk.radio gave us their full trust. No interference, only good energy. That meant everything for a first time out!
First public activation. First transport. First build. First print. First teardown.

Throwback to our talk about inclusivity in the nightlife scene and its challenges.

A warm thank you to everyone who joined us 🤍

Thank you to our speakers @lau_c_n_n_T , @tom.raoul , Rana & Daphna, and @joyce_jenny_ for sharing their experiences, thoughts and perspectives with such care and honesty.

A big thank you as well to @douwemaarten for guiding the conversation, to @cyvira__ for closing the evening with the right energy, and to everyone in the audience for being present, listening and taking part in the exchange !

We’re also very happy about this sweet collaboration with A fonds, Saintklet, Huis van de Mens Brussel and VGC.

Wat is À Fonds+? Welke straffe collectieven vormen mee het muziek- en cultuurlandschap? Florian vertelt je meer over zijn À Fonds+ project: Toverberg.

@toverbergcollective is een label en concertorganisator. Via events en releases proberen ze experimenteel jong talent in de kijker te zetten dat buiten de platgereden paden treedt.
Centraal staan enkele principes: nieuwsgierigheid en openheid voor nieuwe, experimentele muziek, zowel lokaal als internationaal, en de DIY-mentaliteit om zelf het heft in handen te nemen.

Wat is À Fonds? Welke projecten zetten jongeren op poten? Voor wie? Waar? Soulaimane vertelt je meer over zijn À Fonds project: Zmigri.

@zmigri.vzw is een cultureel en sociaal jongerenproject gericht op de Maghrebijnse diaspora in Brussel. Opgericht door drie jonge Brusselaars, Esma, Fatima en Soulaimane, organiseert Zmigri evenementen en activiteiten die jongeren verbinden, trots maken op hun roots en hun kracht laten zien.

Met de subsidie van À Fonds organiseerde het team in 2024 een succesvol driedaags festival.

Van 10 tot en met 12 april is het weer zover! De tweede editie van het Zmigri festival vindt neer plaats bij het Karreveldkasteel in Molenbeek. Benieuwd naar wat je kan verwachten? Check dan zeker @zmigri.vzw.

𝟬𝟯.𝟬𝟰.𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 - 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗲𝗻𝗲: 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 ?

Daphna launched the organization ART FOR GOOD, formerly known as FACE B, in 2016.

She is a management engineer specializing in business ethics. She began her career in the humanitarian sector and as an activist with the European Association for the Defense of Human Rights and Engineers Without Borders.

She then became the manager of Creatis, a cultural business incubator located in Place Royale, and helped develop See U, Belgium's largest temporary occupation, and Pixii & co, an European digital art network.

In 2016, she co-founded the ‘Des Blocs’ project at Cité Modèle with residents and artists.

She is currently head of the “Education & Participatory Programmes” department at WIELS.

Douwe Haenen is a programme maker and heritage professional with a focus on ethics in the cultural sector. He has worked with organisations such as deBuren, the Bonnefanten Museum, OSCAM and SHCL. Since 2023, he has been a programme maker at Curieus, where he promotes accessibility and participation in culture. He is also involved in the Brussels collective Matinée.

@lau_c_n_n_T is a Brussels based DJ and producer, as well as a designer and developer. Keen on creating her own tools through coding and programming, her personal practice situates itself at the crossroads between gender theory, technology and sound. She’s part of the Brussels based music label and event series @m0nt4ge . Since 2018 she has been a part of the research group @bye.byebinary , a collective of designers dedicated to exploring gender-fluid typography. Their work is centered around the concepts of inclusive and non-binary communication within the French language.

@lau_c_n_n_T is een in Brussel gevestigde DJ en producer, maar ook designer en developer. Met een sterke interesse in het creëren van haar eigen tools via coding en programmeren, situeert haar persoonlijke praktijk zich op het kruispunt van gendertheorie, technologie en geluid. Rana is a Brussels based sound engineer, working in-house on both FOH and monitors for a cultural institution, as well as on independent projects. Alongside live music, she collaborates with performance artists on interdisciplinary works. When she does not mix sound, she loves to create soundscapes or organise house gigs across the city with her friends.

Rana is een in Brussel gevestigde geluidstechnicus en werkt in-house zowel aan FOH als monitors voor een culturele instelling, naast onafhankelijke projecten.
Naast live muziek werkt ze samen met performancekunstenaars aan interdisciplinaire projecten.
Wanneer ze geen geluid mixt, creëert ze graag soundscapes of organiseert ze samen met haar vrienden huiskamerconcerten verspreid over de stad.
