My thoughts: wow! What a book! This one was thrilling from the first page right to the end! I loved being in Radha’s head as she dealt with the death of one of her patients in her dentist chair in Glasgow, Scotland. She copes with Valium to combat the OTSD so writes herself too many prescriptions! In addition, her father was been blackmailed at the dentist practice so she has to deal with unsavory characters! Well done, amazing writing and flawed characters that you are rooting for the whole time! Highly highly recommend.

Today is my stop on the blogtour for The Loyal Friend by @aachaudhuri
Thank you to @hera_books for having me along for the tour!

The Loyal Friend is a great slow burn thriller, told from multiple PoVs. It centres around 4 main women: Jade, Natalie, Susan, and Grace.
Jade is a young, friendly, and well-liked fitness instructor who regularly leads the women in her classes. But when Jade goes missing, the truth about all four women's lives is revealed, and the typical suburbanite image is shattered.

Natalie is a somewhat eccentric character, who needs routine and an extreme sense of control to feel able to live her daily life. It's clear from the off that she is hiding something, and not just in relation to Jade's disappearance, but something that has shaped her entire life.
Susan is all about appearances, and likes to feel as though she knows more than everyone else; she is pretentious and can't stop rubbing her wealth and privilege in others' faces, yet seems to think she is the epitome of class.
Grace attracts sympathy from the outset, and seems to be the perfect wife, perfect mother, and perfect daughter caring for her ailing parents, but appearances can be deceiving.

As always, Chaudhuri is a master of creating characters that feel real; even more so because they can be so unlikable.
The setting, the peripheral characters, and the intricacies of each of their lives felt like it could be a true depiction of an average woman that you might meet.
Everyone is hiding something, everyone has a secret, and as soon as something happens within a community, everyone's cracks, guilt, and deceit start to show.

I don't want to give anything away as there are plenty of twists and turns, and just when you think you've figured it out, Chaudhuri pulls the rug out from under you once more - a genuine skill nowadays when we've all read so many thrillers and can often guess what's coming next!
There are plenty of cliffhangers throughout that kept me wanting to turn the pages.
