AKA the Sagittarius Cake from @theclovecoterie ‘s Astrology Series on Substack 💜 I know we’re in Scorpio Season, but I couldn’t resist — plus, I had fresh sage and blackberries from my farm share already in my fridge 😉

Baking cakes for my friends is always a labor of love, but I’m a firm believer that everyone deserves a cake on their birthday and I love to challenge myself (because what’s a creative process without at least one mini meltdown? 😅). I’m so happy with how this one turned out — both in flavor and decoration.

I’ve always wanted to score a face in a loaf of bread so I was very happy when I took this out of the oven 😂

In other news… I sold bread this weekend at a friends fundraiser and it went better than I could even imagine. I met so many new people and they all told me they really enjoyed my bread ☺️ it was such a reassuring thing to hear and makes me want to continue my baking journey.

Just a reminder ❣️ I take special orders if you’re ever interested in ordering bread/cake/anything from me! Just send me a DM!

First #official dinner party at the new place, & I just keep falling more and more in love with this apartment 🌼

If you know me, you know I love a seasonal fruity dessert, so naturally I made a peach, cherry & basil galette with lavender peach jam at the base from @sweetthinggourmet and topped with edible flowers from @wildcoyotefarm (duh) (I wasn’t kidding when I said I put them on everything) 🍑🌸🍒 by @afreckledchef

First Farmers Market Haul of the season 🍑💐🌶️🥒

I moved to Lincoln Square last month so my new go to farmers market is the @avillefarmersmarket , which is also where I pick up my @wildcoyotefarm CSA, so it’s a win win.

One of my favorite vendors so far is @sidekickferments . I can eat this whole jar in one day, it’s sooo good. She alsogave me a sample of their fennel and baek kimchi and it was such a tough choice (also their dill pickles are some of the best pickles ive ever had).

It’s been so fun making this my new Wednesday night routine and checking out different vendors.

I immediately went home and cut up some tomatoes for balsamic cottage cheese tomato toast, one of my favorite summer staples 🍅 by @afreckledchef

Had 2 firsts yesterday: first time making angel food cake and first time making pork chops, and boyyy were they good 😇🍓

Yesterday was my mom’s birthday and these were two of her staples, but I added my own twists

Angel food cake with basil and lemon soaked berries (sadly I left the homemade chantilly whipped cream at home 😭)

Seared pork chops with a Dijon Sauce
