An updated wreath for autumn, reusing materials from the one I made at the end of August (see previous post if you're interested) Same base, same hydrangeas and same ruscus - all now brown and crispy - with added bracken, acer, preserved beech, eucalyptus and gathered leaves and seeds. Thanks to @helen_sheard_floral_designs_ for sharing a pain free method to attach prickly chestnut husks 🍂🤎🍂

We've spruced up the front of the house with a coat of paint and a new door colour. So I've made a wreath to match of course, in shades of green with a hint of white and pink.

I used ruscus and pittosporum, some slightly crispy hydrangea heads from the garden, and an assortment of faux filler flowers. The foliage usually lasts a while so hoping this will look good into September.

I do like everything matchy matchy so will I need to repaint the door again for autumn hues? 🤔

The cool colours of our east facing border at 6am this morning. Alliums, thalictrum, bronze fennel and foxgloves. Everything looking lush and standing tall.
Looking forward to a long weekend out here in the sunshine.

Chelsea Flower Show 2026, so many beautiful flowers...too many people !

Lots geum, foxgloves and dark leaves in many of the gardens, all my favourites that we have already but now I need orange verbascum. It was everywhere and looked wonderful. I tried it once before and it wasn't happy but time to try again - with a handful of grit and a sunnier position.

Here are the flowers that particularly caught my eye.

Roses | Sweet peas | Peonies | Iris | Tulips

Lovely family lunch celebrating an 81st birthday yesterday. Flowers from the garden, apart from the stocks. It's amazing how much there is to pick when you just go for it.
Loving having flowers on the table today, and leftover lemon tart 😊

The most beautiful iris glowing in the sun at Hyde Hall today. Sadly no label so no idea what it is.
My own Kent Pride waiting in the wings, petals almost ready to unfurl.

Pansies and violas flowering happily in the shade, with just a shaft of sunlight in early evening. Which one is your favourite? A mix from @meadowcroftgc and @burfordgarden

More of Venice, we had such a lovely time in such a beautiful city. Impossible to find a bad view here, so way too many photos. Love the first one of the table of gondoliers having a break.
