Ayra Starr is impossible to ignore. Born in Benin Republic, the 21-year-old was raised between its beach city, Cotonou and the cultural hub of Lagos, Nigeria. This mix of cultures inspires her global approach to music, art and life. She's inspired by the regal earthiness of Angelique Kidjo, Rihanna's feisty confidence, as well as 90s fashion icons, and the edgy aesthetic of emo-pop.

Ayra describes her sound as Afrosoul, told in an intoxicating voice that evokes a Gen Z queen-in-waiting. Drawing from influences like classic Yoruba and Beninese music & artists like 2Face and Wande Coal, her music speaks for a generation of girls around the world who are finding themselves, united by angst and emojis.

Her strength comes from a close-knit family of music lovers, including her brother with whom she often writes songs. This ingrained love of art also manifests in her interests; she enjoys risque television shows and has experience as a model.

Kamengo Cultural Troupe

The Kamengo Cultural Troupe is a group of 5 drummers and dancers from the Agnes Zabali Boys and Girls Club (AZBGC) of Kamengo, Uganda. Visiting Canada for the first time, they hope to share their culture through traditional Ugandan dancing and drumming and inspire the Ottawa community with their talent. Pauline, Chris, Brian, Sharif & Deo are leaders at AZBGC, which supports vulnerable children and youth by providing

access to education, healthcare, and safe spaces to live, learn, and play.

The Kamengo Cultural Troupe is available to facilitate workshops for guests of all ages as well as perform at community events. All proceeds

This is our biography: "Underrated Evolution is an Afro-fusion musical group. Our style and originality speak to the perfect blend of Afrobeats, and Caribbean music, alongside hints of Hip Hop and RnB. The trio birthed Underrated Evolution (UE) while attending college. “Tron Dada”, a Trinidadian native, “Chief Dzif”, of Ghanian descent, and “JV Jordan”, of St. Vincent descent, naturally came together after recognizing their unique ability to blend their differences into one sound. “Our sound is not regular, simply cannot be replicated,” says JV lead vocalist. MC Innoce @mc_innoce

MC Innoce is a bilingual Beninese-Canadian emcee based in Ottawa, Ontario. After years of exploring the world of music as an artist, he decided to turn his love of performing into a passion. He thrived from seeing people enjoy his stage presence and knew this was his calling. Working as an emcee since 2016, he believes in demonstrating the influence of African heritage within his community through his work and focuses on promoting Afrocentric events. He has spent time perfecting his craft through hosting: weddings, special events, the nightlife scene, and festivals. He has hosted some well-known club events and festivals in the Ottawa scene such as: Afrofest, Afro world Festival and AFROBEATS Music Festival, alongside of multiple renowned international artists.
