“The forces that unite us are intrinsic and greater than the superimposed influences that keep us apart.”

Our forefathers and hero’s were ready for revolution just like the people was ready at that time. The question is are we ready as a people and do we have the leaders in place to help guide us to where we need to be ? It only gets worse from here we must pick ourselves up and move forward to our liberation.

Malcom x was a Pan Africanist who supported the continent’s fight against colonialism and had a strong relationship with our freedom fighters on the continent.

Speaking one month later, in May 1964, to students in Accra, Ghana, Malcolm X spoke of the welcome he received in Nigeria:

“When I was in Ibadan at the University of Ibadan last Friday night, the students there gave me a new name, which I go for — meaning I like it. “Omowale,” which they say means in Yoruba — if I am pronouncing that correctly, and if I am not pronouncing it correctly it’s because I haven’t had a chance to pronounce it for four hundred years — which means in that dialect, “The child has returned.” It was an honor for me to be referred to as a child who had sense enough to return to the land of his forefathers — to his fatherland and to his motherland. Not sent back here by the State Department, but come back here of my own free will.”

This is what Pan Africanism is all about the unification of our motherland in all aspects. Enough of this tribalism and extreme selfish nationalism that i see around the continent. If were united we will never fall but if were divided we will always bee enslaved and exploited.

A special day for this special man. A true leader and icon for African people. 🇨🇩

“nothing about Lumumba caused greater consternation in the West and triggered Eisenhower’s order for his assassination than his accord with Nkrumah to combine their two

countries of the Congo...and Ghana into a nucleus of a Union of African States; and Nkrumah’s overthrow by the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) came in the wake of a NATO meeting that his Pan-African exertions in such places as the Congo and within such structure as the All- African Trade Union Federation (AATUF) threatened western interest.

I read this from the book kwame Nkrumah political thoughts and policies. Lumumba was so close to achieving greatness alongside kwame Nkrumah.

Such a profound message that African leaders must listen and follow. As a leader you are there to facilitate the needs of the people. This quote from Thomas Sankara captures the pure essence of what leadership should be for our people.

Wise words from our elder John Henrik Clarke. We as Africans must unite globally and understand we suffer the same oppression and have the same enemy inflicting it. Pan Africanism is the only way for us as a people to achieve true liberation and power globally and in our own countries, communities, and the Continent.

“Powerful people cannot afford to educate the people that they oppress, because once you are truly educated, you will not ask for power. You will take it.” By John Henrik Clarke.

“Black power can be clearly defined for those who do not attach the fears of whyte America to their questions about it.” Kwame Ture with the truth that is still relevant today. As pan Africanist we can relate to this very well as we strive to make black/African power the epicentre of our movement and liberation.

“Our objective is African union now. There is no time to waste. We must unite now or perish. I am confident that by our concerted effort and determination, we shall lay here the foundations for a continental Union of African States.” A quote from Kwame Nkrumah in 1963 at the OAU meeting. Such profound words from our ancestors who knew what was in our best interests. Credit to Thabo mbeki for a great statement on African unity.

. “The job of a revolutionary is, of course, to overthrow unjust systems and replace them with just systems because a revolutionary understands this can only be done by the masses of the people. So, the task of the revolutionary is to organize the masses of the people, given the conditions of the Africans around the world who are disorganized, consequently, all my efforts are going to organizing people.” Well said Kwame ture/Stokley Carmichael .

Two quotes from Frantz Fanon come to mind :
1. “Zombies, believe me, are more terrifying”
2. “Imperialism leaves behind germs of rot which we must clinically detect and remove from our land but from our minds as well.”

Peace and power to our wonderful ancestor Frantz Fanon 🇲🇶who was a psychiatrist and political philosopher. His works have become influential in the fields of post-colonial studies, critical theory and Marxism.
