Episode 4: The imposter is the lie (and why this stayed in my drafts for 3 weeks). šŸƒšŸ¾ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ†

I recorded this video 3 weeks ago during a 5K run. And then...

I let it sit in my drafts. I rewatched it, second-guessed it, over-refined it, and almost convinced myself it didn’t make sense anymore.Ā

Which is ironic, because this whole video is about self-doubt.
When I made the Top 100 for the Top Billing Presenter Search (even with them calling me ā€œAfrica Sandaā€ šŸ˜‚), and when we took home a Gold Pixel at the Bookmarks for Umntana ka Gogo, I got the outward recognition I’d been longing for. But sitting on this video made me realize something bigger: standing on an awards stage feels great, but having the courage to share my raw, ā€œimperfectā€ thoughts—without waiting for perfection—is the actual feeling I’ve been searching for.Ā

Earlier, my Uncle Mfundo called me and reminded me: ā€œEven if you give God the credit, God still needed YOU to do the work. The work can exist, but only the right performer gives it significance.ā€Ā

Episode 2 got buried under conflict. Episode 4 was supposed to be about confronting it. But today, on a random Thursday morning, Episode 4 is about liberation.Ā

This is for anyone fighting a self-diagnosed case of imposter syndrome: the imposter is the one lying to you about who you are. You exist because you are what the world needs right now—stop shrinking in your own head.Ā

I’m finally learning to be ā€œpeopleā€ for myself.Ā
No more holding back in the drafts. We are just getting started. See you in Episode 5. šŸ‘‡āœØ by @africanasanda

Video 3: Brain fog, the internet void, and finding what’s real. šŸ« ā˜•ļø

If you’ve been following my Rejection Therapy series, you know I was supposed to post Video 2 days ago. Long story short: Video 2 disappeared into the digital abyss. We don’t talk about Video 2. šŸŖ¦šŸ’€

But trying to script Video 3 this week completely broke my brain. I woke up a few days ago to a world that felt entirely upside down. On one hand, I was watching the news and social media timelines spin narratives about the protests on the ground that looked absolutely nothing like reality. I watched people sitting indoors, glued to their phones, tweeting about the outside—while the actual people outside were living a completely different truth. It’s scary how easily information gets warped by bias.

In the midst of all that heavy noise and heartbreak, I needed to remind myself of what is real.

So, I looked back at the footage I captured during the Bafana Bafana World Cup run. We didn’t get the fairytale ending against Canada, but look at that montage. Look at those faces. That wasn’t filtered through an algorithm or a biased headline. That was pure, unfiltered South African unity. Massive shoutout to the incredible people I met on the ground who reminded me what community actually feels like. šŸ‡æšŸ‡¦ā¤ļø

Rejection therapy started as a way for me to handle the fear of being perceived by the world. But this week taught me a much bigger lesson: the world’s perception is usually warped anyway.

The real vulnerability isn’t the final score, and it’s not the corporate noise. It’s having the courage to keep hoping, keep showing up, and staying grounded in your own truth when everything else is spinning.

We dust ourselves off, and we keep moving forward. See you in part 4. šŸ‘‡āœØ by @africanasanda

A quick recap of the last few weeks, soundtracked by the incredible @mvziou’s Thetha šŸŽ¶šŸ”„

To be honest, I started editing this video to give a big push for my Top Billing Presenter Search entry. But mid-way through, it turned into something else. I’m calling this chapter ā€œEmbarrassing Myself (Rejection Therapy)ā€ā€”essentially, a masterclass in getting out of my own head, building my confidence, and just sharing content consistently.

No more overthinking. Just executing. āš”ļø

That being said, the dream is still very much alive! If you haven’t seen it yet (or want to boost it again), my official entry video is pinned to the top of my profile. If you believe in the vision, please head over, leave a like, and share it!

Let’s keep this momentum going. šŸ‘‡ by @africanasanda
