πŸ—ΊοΈ Welcome to AfricaNomads – where adventure meets home.

We are Alejandra, Steve, Pepe, Felipe & Bongo 🐢 β€”freedom seekers, hospitality lovers, and experience creators. 🌍✨ After years of working in some of the world’s most breathtaking locationsβ€”from the untamed coastline carved by the Tasman Sea 🌊 to the depths of the Okavango Delta 🐘, the summits of the Karakoram ⛰️, and the rhythmic soul of the Swahili coast πŸοΈβ€”we realized that travel is about more than just places. It’s about people, connections, and unforgettable moments. ❀️

Why do we do this? We’ve spent years welcoming guests, watching them leave with tears in their eyes 😒, yet never truly having enough time to connect. Now, things are different. Here, we find ourselves crying when our Nomads leave, tooβ€”and that’s how we know we’re doing something right. We’ve found a way to combine what we know best, creating a space where every moment feels like a pleasure to be in. ✨
🏑 We’re not just hosting; we’re sharing something real. 🀍

🚐 From off-the-beaten-path escapes to slow-living experiences, we live for the thrill of the journey and the magic of community. We invite you to discover a world where stays turn into stories, and strangers turn into family. πŸ•οΈπŸ”₯

🌟 Ready to explore with us? Our dream is to craft a journey through some of the most incredible spots across the continent. 🌍✨ Which places would you like to see on our route? πŸ‘€πŸ’

πŸ“Έ Thanks @roxyvich

🌍 Who Joins Our Community? ✨

We always get askedβ€”who are the people in our colivings? The answer: a diverse, inspiring, and adventurous group of remote workers, entrepreneurs, and creatives from all over the world! 🌎

βœ”οΈ No age limits. Our members range from 24 to 80 years old, with most in their 30s and 40s.

βœ”οΈ 28+ nationalities. A diverse mix of backgrounds, cultures, and experiences. 🌎

βœ”οΈ Everyone is working remotely; whether on their own business, freelancing, or pursuing passion projects. πŸ’»πŸš€

But beyond work, we love exploring, connecting, and creating real friendships. Traveling solo can feel lonely, but in our community, you get instant friends, deep conversations, and experiences you wouldn’t have on your own.

From city life to beachside living, cultural immersion, and epic adventures, you’ll probably cross paths with our nomads again because these friendships last a lifetime πŸ’›

Next stops: Nairobi & Watamu! Who’s joining? πŸš€βœ¨

Thanks @roxyvich for πŸ“Έ

Bucket lists, one at a time. 🌍

Mafia Island is one of those places that feels like a once-in-a-lifetime kind of experience.

Known for some of the best diving in East Africa, and once you get underwater, it’s easy to see why.

The colours. The coral. The marine life. The feeling of being completely surrounded by it all.
What a place.

How lucky are we to be alive? 🐠🌊

Malawi has a way of making you slow down. πŸ‡²πŸ‡Ό

Lake Malawi, little fishing boats, lakefront mornings, warm people, island days, fresh water dives and sunsets that make you forget what time it is. πŸŒŠβ˜€οΈ

This is the Warm Heart of Africa, and once you’ve been, you’ll understand why.

Come for the lake. Stay for everything else. 🐠🌴

This little part of my life… this little part is called happiness. 🧑

Somewhere in the Danakil Depression, Ethiopia. Three 4x4s, a bunch of nomads, Ethiopian beats, and one of those days you wish you could bottle up and keep forever.

This is why we come to Africa. 🌍✨

πŸ‡²πŸ‡Ό Malawi, the Warm Heart of Africa.

Imagine waking up in a lakefront room, stepping outside and seeing Lake Malawi right in front of you.

This is one of the best places in the world for freshwater diving, with clear water, colourful fish and some incredible underwater life. 🀿🌊

And then there’s Likoma Island. A small island in the middle of the lake, with quiet beaches, fishing villages, baobab trees and a pace of life that makes you slow down without even trying.

You can work from here too. Our coliving has Starlink, so you have the connection you need for calls, meetings and getting your work done.

Then close your laptop and go swimming.

This is Malawi.

A month by the lake. New people around you. A different part of Africa to call home for a while.

Come join us in the Warm Heart of Africa. ❀️

Throwback to the day Bluetti x AfricaNomads worked together to donate 200 solar batteries to Manda Island in Lamu County, a remote part of Lamu where many households still don’t have access to electricity.

When we spoke to families and the school, they told us how difficult some of the most basic things could be after dark. Cooking, charging a phone, or having children sit down to do their homework often meant relying on kerosene lamps. They’re expensive to keep buying, and they can also be dangerous.

For us, it was easy to think of a battery as just a battery. But seeing how people use them here made it feel very different.

Children can now do their homework at night. Families can charge their phones. People can cook, sit together, and spend the evening with some light around them.

It’s a small change, but when you don’t have electricity, having light after dark changes a lot. We believe that we should not only pass through Africa, but indeed help make it a better place.

Being a digital nomad sounds like having complete freedom.

And then you realise that freedom also means constantly having to decide where you're going next. πŸ˜‚ Happy problems!

So we built AfricaNomads around making that part a little easier.

Our routes are planned to give you a bit of everything.

The energy of vibrant, busy cities where there's always somewhere to go, something happening and a new place to discover.

Then the slower side of Africa, with beaches, warm evenings, island life and nowhere you particularly need to be.

You can move from destination to destination without having to figure out every house, coworking space, airport transfer, SIM card and social life along the way.

And because our chapters are designed to connect, you don't necessarily have to choose between city life or beach life.

You can have both.

Stay for a few weeks. Move on. Stay longer if you're loving it. Join another chapter somewhere completely different.

Basically, we take care of the β€œwhere the hell am I going next?” part.

You just have to decide whether you're ready for the next one. 🌍 Tell us, where are you heading next?

If you needed a sign to go to Africa… here it is. 🌈

We’re not saying you have to book the trip.
We’re just saying… the universe seems pretty clear about it.

Where would you go first?

Why did we choose Malawi?

Very simple... because it's the Warm Heart of Africa. ❀️

Not just because of its incredibly welcoming people, but because it's a place that has it all.

🌊 Crystal-clear Lake Malawi.
🌿 Lush forests.
πŸ₯Ύ Beautiful hikes.
πŸ’¦ Hidden waterfalls.
🌳 Giant baobab trees.
πŸŒ… Relaxed lakeside towns like Nkhata Bay.

It's a side of Africa that many travelers never get to experience. Less crowded, more authentic, and full of unforgettable moments.

We can't wait to share it with our community.

Would you add Malawi to your Africa bucket list? πŸ‡²πŸ‡Ό
