I’m Hannah — a hardworking mommy of two boys. I’m also a runner, a hostess, a Christian, and a retired hairstylist. Moving to a new city in my 30s, I quickly realized how hard it can be to find genuine community at this stage of life. I searched for social groups everywhere, only to find that many of them were filled with twenty-something year olds. And no shade at all lol but we’re simply in different seasons 😂🫶🏾

That experience led me to a simple realization: if the space I needed didn’t exist, I could create it. afroDEGA is the result, it’s a space designed for women who are building careers, raising families, healing, growing, and simply wanting real connection.

I got the name afroDEGA from culture and community. Growing up, every neighborhood had a local bodega, a place where you’d always run into someone you knew. It was the hang out spot. The place that had a little bit of everything you needed.

afroDEGA is that same idea, but for women. A space that feels familiar, supportive, and rooted in community. A village designed to help you move through life together.
