AFROCON | What is it? Who are we?

We are: AFRO | CONNECTION embodied ritual space created to celebrate, unify, uplift and liberate the African diaspora & indigenous peoples. Through curated space of intentionality, we traverse the many rhythms and discussions that connect us all.

With the talk of the drums, the whispers of the whistles, the ground beneath our feet and the water which rises within us… we connect deeper within and with one another.

Our first festival production in Africa ‘25, was held in Nairobi! Home country of founder, Estonia Elizabeth @junglemoonmama ✨ a night to remember! The greatness of @chezachezaallstarsacademy dancers who moved with so much joy that it was infectious medicine to all! The soundscapes into sunrise with our epic DJs were a gift & sooo much more! A look back to our first AFROCON festival in Nairobi✨🌀 Thank you to all our DJs, artists, media team and many more! This was a dream come true moment with sooo much inspiration and room to continue expanding!

The seed was planted and we are eager to watch it continue blossoming!

With less than a month of prep, this dream was brought to life with nearly 300 local guests from all over Nairobi✨ it was one of the most amazing and deeply humbling experiences. We learned soo much about what is possible and how to continue to grow with improvement in the years to come. Seeing all the smiling faces and getting to share this experience with my cousins was only rhe cherry ontop! Thank you @chezachezaallstarsacademy for your contribution and magic on the stage! You guys were the highlight for me among many other special contributions.

Thank you @kevin_ochieng_254 , for this amazing recap video that gives the world a small taste of what we created.

More is on the way! 🌀✨🎊

Last year, I went home to Kenya and reconnected with my family while also launching my festival AFROCON✨ @afrocon.fest … Dance & Community is everything! That is the medicine!

Connecting with my family was TOP TIER experience as we celebrated my BABU turning 90 and our youngest new family member named after yours truly. It was a really special trip! Documented with love by @kevin_ochieng_254, we also got to dip into some really fun promotion on national TV! Very blessed with Nairobis top DJs & dear friend @realquedj . Visited @chezachezadance where we got tons of inspiration from incredible youth dancers + shared a fun workshop. We invited their @chezachezaallstarsacademy dancers to come share their magic along side to our DJs and they WERE INSANELY AMAZING✨seeing the smiles and freedom in the room truly melted my heart.

I am sooo motivated by the cultural unity & collective joy. To be African is to be full of inhibited JOY!

AFROCON is all about connecting the African diaspora to remember this feeling. To be in celebration of our culture. Our movement. Our healing. Our future!

Following this calling is so important to me no matter the challenges we may face as a people. The revolution is powered by our collective liberation and tbat vision is held by each and every one of us. We are the living alters not only for our ancestors but also for the future to come.

AFROCON is growing ~ expanding ~ returning stronger than ever. I hope to bring this magic to a city near you ❤️🌀✨ by @afrocon.fest

AFROCON Tribe gathering during @envisionfestival ✨ a true organic moment of community, ceremony and connection. Thankful for the continuation of passion into purpose with @afrocontribe ❤️

The biggest focus behind this project is the revolutionary unification of our people across the whole Diaspora. Coming together to celebrate our common ground, our reverent missions, our magical artistic ways of being and collectively make an impact that counts.

Bringing folks together for a group photo is one thing, yet, initiating deep prayer and joy within a group is nothing short of divine magick! Many of us meeting for the first time, while others returned for those familiar hugs.

Advocating for cultural representation during big events like this isn’t always easy and often undervalued in our society. My goal is to change that narrative not only by creating our own powerful activations but also through spreading the education needed worldwide around the importance of cultural inclusivity. Grateful to my OG tribe that has been walking this path with me for a few years now. We really just pull up with our drums and heart wide open and take up space as living alters for our ancestors. Asé!

As time continues, we have more special offerings and unique opportunities that I literally cannot WAIT to share with you! Follow @afrocontribe to stay connected —> Tap into also @afrocon.fest & @invisible_kids_academy243 to receive updates on upcoming festival dates & fundraising opportunities for our East Africa Campaign.

Thank you to our media @jrobertson.nyc for these epic captures!
