How visible is Afro culture in Spain? 🇪🇸

It’s estimated that at the very minimum, there are 1.3M people of African origin living in Spain. BUT without official data on race or ethnicity, the true number of Black and Afro-descendant people remains unknown.

What does this mean for us?

It means that Black, African and Afro-diasporic artists can be practically absent at events like Madrid Gallery Weekend last week and nobody will bat an eyelid (except us *ahem*).

And that is why AfroFomo exists. 🖤

We’re here to shine a light on Madrid’s African and Afro-diaspora culture but we can’t do it without you. And if we don’t, who will?
