The visual world shaped by @arulled is created from intuition, memory, and the spaces between waking and dreaming.

Her figures appear as if they belong to multiple timelines at once — manifestations of inner worlds made visible. Drawing from themes of intimacy, identity, existentialism, metaphysics, and human connection, Gounane creates compositions that blur the boundaries between reality and imagination.

During the evening, her work invites us to move between these layered worlds — where memories, emotions, and imagined realities can exist side by side.

We're excited to have her for this edition at Afrovism. See you on the 31st at @felixmeritisamsterdam? Doors open 19.30!

Step into the world of @sistersjanssen , in collaboration with their mother and muse, Helen Martina.

Within the theme Memory Within Dreams, Sisters Janssen invite us into LOVE YOUR HAIR, THANKS! — a dream state imagined from a place of complete confidence. Through a collection of memories of childhood translated into pieces of art, meet the worlds Sisters Janssen still dream of creating.

Together, they create a world where we imagine how we want to exist, how we want to be seen, what we want to receive and what we want to give — where confidence doesn’t have to be earned first.

Join us on Saturday October 31, ticket link in bio.

Introducing MiDi KwaKwa — she makes music that feels like stepping into a memory you haven’t lived yet. MiDi creates a space where the distance between artist and audience seems to disappear.

Moving between alternative R&B, neo-soul and Afro influences, she brings together a quiet sense of intimacy that draws you in.

We can't wait to welcome her on stage on October 31 at @felixmeritisamsterdam 🤍 taken in Amsterdam, Netherlands by @afrovism

This edition of Afrovism invites both artists and guests to reflect on dreams — not as an escape from life, but as a rehearsal for it. In a world that often asks us to react rather than reflect, we offer a space to imagine differently, together, through a talk together with @chloecontemplates, performances by @msabigailj and @midi.kwakwa, art by @arulledand, @sistersjanssen, @ella.wanendeya and scents by @ella.wanendeya.

What happens when a room full of people dreams together?

On October 31, Afrovism returns to Felix Meritis for an evening where live music, art, scent, light and food come together to create one shared dreamscape. Creating a moment for us to pause, imagine differently and experience art through all five senses.

With performances by @msabigailj and @midi.kwakwa, art by @arulled, by @sistersjanssen and @ella.wanendeya, we invite you to exploring memory within dreams. And @upclose.community brings conversation, connection and collective exchange into the space

Tickets are now live. Link in bio.

See you all on Oct. 31st!

Introducing our final artist, @fideliofaustino . He explores themes of nostalgia and belonging rooted in the Afro-Caribbean experience.

His work is grounded in lived experience and aims to contribute to the representation of Black and Indigenous communities. Through carefully composed imagery, he engages with identity, symbolism, and personal mythology.

His visual language blends modern aesthetics with conceptual depth, often using light, form, and gesture to create emotional and narrative resonance.

Opening tomorrow at @sheriff.gallery from 7-9 PM. We will be there from June 4-7th.

Born and raised in Italy to Ghanaian parents and currently based in Chicago, @lawrenceagyei works from a layered cultural perspective. Ghana functions as an ancestral anchor within his practice.

Through carefully composed portraits and observational imagery, he foregrounds presence, dignity, and autonomy, resisting reductive narratives often imposed on African subjects within Western contexts.

For the show in Paris, he'll share his new work, Nayan, shot in Ghana, 2026.

We're in there from June 04 till June 07 at @sheriff.gallery, 53 Rue de Turenne, 75003. Open from 11AM till 5PM.
