Hey, macrame lovers! Welcome to our ‘Macrame SOS’ reel. Today, we’ll tackle common issues and their solutions. Let’s dive in 💚

1) Discoloration -
🌞 Macrame pieces may lose their original color over time, due excess sunlight exposure, dust accumulation, or improper cleaning methods
🪣 Solution : Avoid exposure to direct harsh sunlight. Use mild detergent for gentle spot cleaning using damp cloth. Don’t soak them in water 💧

2) Dust Accumulation -
🤢 Its common for dust to get accumulated over your fine pieces, causing dullness, loss of vibrancy, and an overall lackluster look.
🧹 Solution : Use a soft brush to remove dust from your macrame time to time. You can also use small hand held vacuum cleaner with low pressure setting. If hung in open space like balconies, increase the dusting frequency.

3) Mold and Mildew -
💧Mold and mildew can develop on macrame pieces, especially if they are exposed to humid conditions or improper storage. It can be identified by spotting dark spots and musty odour.
🌬Solution : Store macrame items in a dry, well-ventilated area. Avoid hanging them in damp bathrooms or near leaky windows. Regularly inspect your macrame for signs of moisture.

4) Fraying or Breaking of Cords -
🧵Cords of macrame pieces starts to fray if not properly taken care of leading to a messy appearance and potential structural weakness.
🫧Solution : Use gentle cleaning using mild cleaners, avoid harsh detergents,chemicals or bleach. Use soft fluffy brushes for dusting and not the ones with hard bristles. If still get frayed cords, use clear fabric glue at the ends to avoid further damage.
