Today the council members of the @cityofcommerce unanimously voted for a big change in our aquatics program. They decided that there will no longer be full time head swim coach, head women’s water polo coach and aquatics program director positions. This was made for the purpose of budget cuts, but what they will do to continue to “successfully” run the program is unmentioned and unclear to the community. Although I understand there are budgets that must be met throughout city activities, I do not support lessening these programs. Swimming and women’s water polo has been such a big foundation of what makes Commerce so special, lets hope these promises of a continued successful program don’t fall short through their changes as they have in the past. If you would wish to be better informed on this topic you can reach out to me or watch the full council meeting on their Facebook. https://fb.watch/BbH3snOARR/?mibextid=wwXIfr by @ag1menez
