The AGAC Foundation is launching its 2026–2027 annual campaign! 💫

Funds raised through this campaign support the Plural Forum, the educational programming of @foireplural. The Forum brings together artists, arts professionals, collectors and audiences through conversations and activities that foster a deeper understanding of contemporary art and the questions that shape it.

As part of the campaign, the Foundation spoke with arts professionals who share a special connection with the Forum. We asked them one simple question: if you had to describe the Forum in one (or a few) word(s), which would you choose? 💭

💗 By supporting the Forum, you help sustain an essential meeting space for the Canadian arts community.

Anouk Verviers 🎀🦾

Sierra Barber: Portals 🍓
🍾 Opening reception: Saturday, October 24th, 2 to 4pm

October 24 → November 28, 2026

"Working with oil paint and glass seed beads, Barber draws on Haudenosaunee visual and material culture to explore memory, cultural continuity, transformation, and connection. Her recent work is based on the beaded souvenirs and “whimsies” made by Mohawk and Tuscarora communities for tourists around Niagara Falls in the nineteenth century. While these objects adopted Victorian decorative styles, their floral patterns and motifs also carried Haudenosaunee knowledge and symbolism."

Shawn Hunt: PSYOP 💚
🍾 Opening reception: Saturday, October 24th, 2 to 4pm

October 24 → November 28, 2026

"In 𝑷𝑺𝒀𝑶𝑷, Hunt pushes his painting practice into new territory, using a striking black-and-white and neon green palette to explore defining modern anxieties: artificial intelligence, surveillance, and algorithmic control. By favouring bold contours and dramatic contrasts, these works transform Hunt’s Neoformline style into complex, interlocking visual narratives. Traditional motifs take on unexpected contemporary meanings: an ovoid suggests a server node, a U-form becomes an enclosure, and a crest figure converts into a motherboard. […]"
