it was just a blue sky, 10 minute abstract plein-air-painting-in-a-wildflower-meadow sort of day. 🙃

I had a fun fall plein air painting date last week with @lorimcqueeneyart and @marynovaksellitti at #muscootfarm ! I practiced abstracting the landscape and we all made friends with a wandering chicken.

Fruit and Flowers collage, 8x10”

I created this piece by painting and cutting brightly colored fruits and their bowl out of prior watercolor paintings. ✂️

I painted these plein air abstract landscapes today with @marysellittiart while she painted flowers. There was certainly more catching up than painting happening but I actually like how these turned out. Sometimes it’s helpful to just turn off my brain and play with paint.

I took a quick virtual trip to the beach today with @lorimcqueeneyart and my Westchester watercolor friends. I completed these 5x7” studies. Do you have a favorite? Mine is #3 with the sailboat!

I painted some quick 5x7” abstract landscapes of the Hudson River view from Dockside Park in Cold Spring. I visited last week for some late summer inspiration. Scroll for photos. I used watercolor, acrylic gouache, ink and watercolor crayons.

I hope to see some familiar faces at my opening reception tomorrow in Croton- see prior post for details!

I made this abstract mixed media collage on an 10x10” canvas. I’m not sure how I feel about it yet but there are 4 cats and a slice of cake in it, so that’s probably good.

Last drops of summer break…After 4 days on cape cod I finally managed to get a little solo painting time for myself, apparently it was during seagull naptime as there were hundreds of birds calmly chilling on the sand with their beaks tucked under their wings.
Also sharing some family pictures of us enjoying the ocean and bay from low tide to high tide! 🌊
