So here we go, about to land in Cape Town - South Africa. Did you know that some of the most innovative work in expanded learning is happening here? They are using arts and culture (specifically Hiphop culture) to cultivate critical thinking, cultural sustainability, and social justice in young people. My non-profit: The Alliance for the 7th Generation has pivoted to become a philanthropic endeavor and we are helping Heal the Hood (in Cape Town) build a world class Creative Wellbeing Center. And, we are FINALLY doing a professional documentary about this work and process. Join me in modeling how we can thrive and build a movement of hope even in turbulent times!! by @agapesphere

I had a wonderful time speaking on a panel at Stellenbosch University in South Africa. The topic was Hiphop as a modality for healing and the importance of indigeneity so we can fulfill the dream of a sustainable future for our communities. The International Hiphop Healing Festival is in full effect! #hiphopashealing, #nativeknowledge, #hiphope by @agapesphere

I’ve been overwhelmed by the love and response from my keynote: “These are the Breaks- From Breakdown to Breakthrough” at the CASEL SEL Exchange. Awesome meeting so many amazing folks who are called to this work in education during such a historical moment. Now is the time to engage students, staff, and communities using a Hiphop State of Mind that promotes culturally sustainability and equitable collaboration. #selexchange2023 ,#hiphoped ,#hiphope, #hiphopcultureheals by @agapesphere

Was able to share my story of going from being labeled “LD” to getting my PhD with young men of color this week. We all left reciprocally transformed and inspired! I had a great time presenting and engaging with folks at the Big Brothers Big Sisters national conference in Indianapolis. I got to meet my friend Artis Stevens (CEO of BBBSA) in person and connect with Jordin Sparks (Multi-platinum) recording artist. Time for healing and critical well-being to go to scale!! by @agapesphere

Anyone else feel like the new Yeezy shoe looks like a Croc that a crocodile ate and had a “yeezy” feeling about passing on the other side? I’m about to rock my red hat that says “Make Kanye 2006 Again”! by @agapesphere

Wrapped up this mural today as a reminder that we can still dream, hope, embrace justice, and transform. It was a healing family affair. #blacklivesmatter, #paintopropane, #artillery by @agapesphere
