We are excited to announce that Act Now Age Better is back for 2026!

This year, we're encouraging those aged 50-65 to move a little more so that they can age better.

To help make that next move towards a healthier later life, we’re delighted to be supported by over 50 sporting partners who are offering lots of different ways to get you moving this summer.

From walking versions of your favourite sport to more challenging classes, there’s something for everyone.

Visit the link in our bio for more info and stay tuned for lots more over the summer.

Happy birthday to our friends at @parkrunuk 🥳

Congratulations on 22 years of bringing people and communities #22gether, and encouraging so many to #ActNowAgeBetter

Are you enjoying a #parkrun today? A group of people gathered on a grassy area in front of a modern building, celebrating the 22nd birthday of parkrun. A large banner reads "Happy 22nd birthday parkrun." by @age_uk

What rights matter as we grow older?

All of our rights matter!

That’s what older people in the UK and around the world told us.

Following the landmark decision to begin drafting a new United Nations (UN) Convention on the Rights of Older Persons, it's so important that older people's voices are heard and included.

Today, on International Day of Older Persons, we are launching our new report with @age_uk, ‘All our rights: Hearing from older people across the world’. We share what older people say about the rights that matter most to them - from dignity and equality, to healthcare, independence and inclusion.

Older people must be at the heart of this new human rights treaty - “nothing about us, without us”.

Visit ageinternational.org.uk to read the report.

All of us at Age UK are deeply saddened by the news that Dame Esther Rantzen DBE, who founded our Silver Line Helpline, has died. Esther was a true inspiration who helped support thousands of lonely older people through The Silver Line Helpline. We send our heartfelt condolences to Dame Esther’s family 💜 by @age_uk

The Big Knit with @innocent and @age_uk is coming to the Knit Lounge at Alexandra Palace on 8th October to celebrate the launch of The Big Knit 2026-28!

Since 2003, innocent and Age UK have been asking knitters and crocheters across the UK to create little hats for innocent smoothie bottles. For every smoothie sold, Age UK receives 30p to help older people live well.

Join innocent and Age UK at the Knit Lounge to celebrate The Big Knit and create some little hats! Whether you make a little hat on the day or drop off hats you've already made, every hat helps Age UK support older people across the UK. Together, we're aiming to collect 1.5 million hats and raise more than £400,000 for Age UK.

Would you take on a challenge like the #LondonToBrighton bike ride? 🚴

One of our fundraisers took us on the journey, and showed us how much fun can be had while pushing yourself out of your comfort zone. Tap the link in our bio to take on a fundraising challenge of your own, and help us be there for older people when they need us the most 💜 taken in Brighton, England, UK by @age_uk

We’re supporting @digipovalliance’s #EndDigitalPoverty Week because we believe in a future where everyone is included.

We found that 1.4 million older people in England are completely offline while another 7.9 million aren’t confident in doing many things digitally. This means that essential services like banking or making doctors appointments are becoming increasingly difficult.

Tap the link in our bio to read our report. A person with a neutral expression stands outdoors, text on image highlights digital exclusion: "25% of older people are ‘partially digitally excluded’". A quote from "Elizabeth", age 64, discusses challenges with technology despite being passionate about learning. The image is part of a "Digital Done Right" campaign. by @age_uk
